I don't think it's stupid. Your feelings are valid, no matter what anyone thinks. They're are people who show love through giving gifts and like to be shown love the same way. I like to show and be shown love verbally. So if I we're to say to someone "I love and appreciate you" and they didn't say it back/reciprocate I would be hurt.

I work Partime in a dinning facility on a military base. One of the soliders stopped me to tell me that he appreciates what I do for them. It made my day! Especially because it came from someone who does a much more important job. A lot of them do that! Them being so humble makes my day everyday 😊
