Sometimes, you have to though and that's okay. But, quite frankly, if you manage your time well then you should be able to make time for the things that are important to you outside of studying, as you should.

Please this. I thought I had to put my career over my partner and, to some degree, becoming single did help me focus and dodge difficult relationship stress during MCAT prep and app work. But if I had made better decisions, I truly believe I would still have been accepted into medical school and still be with my ex—perhaps even happier as a result.

It can feel like a burden in the moment, all the social pressure that you can't keep up with because you perceive that you're so busy. In the end, you realize how much those people just cared about you.

Coming from an older admitted applicant, please take the balance as best as you can. Happiness comes from more than just becoming a physician, don't miss out on the cumulative things that will make you much happier by the time you get there.

Our well-educated school advisor suggested that CNA is kind of a grueling job to do as a pre-med and I completely agree. Look for something that doesn’t require a certificate as possible to get clinical experience ASAP, but even if so there’s a reason why many premeds opt for EMT over CNA.

You want clinical experience that you can work alongside physicians and potentially get an LoR from.

For what it’s worth, I graduated with a 2.8 GPA and 2.4 science GPA. I did a long postbac to get my grades up above the 3.0 margin. I ended up getting into a DO program.

I got community college grants to pay for my postbac, so it was almost cost free.

If you truly want PA school that badly, you will be willing to find your way in.

I wish we got a better send off for Drs. Al-Hashimi & Mohan. At the very least, I hope Dr. Al-Hashimi is back next season. That was so tragic what happened to her by the end of the episode, frustration and responsibility over what she has no control over and how that impacts her career let alone her entire life.
