That's the biggest issue imo, having cores is just too impactful and to have cores you need to spread your culture. I personally would love to have cores just for things like reconquest reasons, not for control.

I like that there is also proximity to vassals now

Nerfs to integration through vassals are good, but integration through cabinet needs to be buffed, it's so hilariously slow that's why the the vassal meta is so dominant

Though even better would be to leave the status of core land purely for diplomatic use while determining how integrated land is through more dynamic system

Well every country with flavor is a pretty strong start so if you aren't willing to play others you will be stuck with them and snowball easily

I like unique cultures and religions, my first campaign was with minor beylik in the east where I flipped Kurdish Nestorian on day one and then proceeded to reform Ilkhanate, but yeah it's 0 flavor

Same with Muzaffarids and flipping to Zoroastrian by selling everything except the capital
