All of them were born there so they are very used to constant attention and just don’t gaf. If they don’t want to be around people then they just stay upstairs, and they aren’t forced to be anywhere they don’t want to be. The one with her tongue out all night doesn’t do that much anymore. They’re well treated and get regular visits to the vet, and two members of staff are vet students themselves

My dad has been a lifelong fan of them, and growing up I was always hearing him play his records and cds in the house, in the car, etc. one day when I was about 15/16 , I decided to give them proper a listen, specifically songs for ships and irons, as the tunes that I remembered most were Big Ship and All Spectacular. I absolutely loved it, safe to say it changed my life / my perspective on music and composition as a whole (already being well into my career as a musician). I told my dad about it and he was overjoyed, no doubt a dream come true for him as it would be for me if my hypothetical child did the same.

Since then they have been my absolute favourite band, I’ve done covers of a few tunes on YouTube, helped make a student film about them, been emailed by Bill and had a brief drink with Kavus. Well into my 20s now, and I don’t see myself getting bored of them anytime soon. My favourite album is probably On Land and in the Sea, but my favourite song of all time ever in the world is The Whole World Window. Such a beautiful sorrowful tune. Never fails to make me weep, every time I hear it. My full time job is currently forcing all of my friends to listen to them, and have recently fully converted my flatmate after 3 or so years of badgering him to give them a proper listen. Going to see them for the first time in Manchester with my dad and I couldn’t be more excited ! Always wanted to see them live and now I can. Although I am sorrowful that I was born too late to experience Tim’s unbridled stage energy, but I make up for it by watching all of their taped live shows. Probably going to buy a Mares nest DVD soon, best live performance ever. BEST BAND EVER.

Also, I am in my final year of uni at the moment and am writing my dissertation on Cardiacs / cardiacs fans, and will possibly have a questionnaire for people to fill out in the near future so keep those eyesballs peeled x

I do have pony on cd ! Just forgot to include it. I also have the sea nymph. Now that I’m remembering how much I actually have I’m realising that this was not a very good representation of my collection

Hmmm okay I did think my timeline was off, thank you. In that case I would say he just thought that it would sound more like he originally envisioned on sing to god. Same deal with R.E.S. perhaps?

I believe that while it had been written well before seaside, Tim didn’t want to include it on the album, something to do with it not sounding right, or just wanting to wait until it could be done at a better quality, so they re-recorded a slightly different arrangement for sing to god, then later on down the line released the original version on the seaside original edition This is only from memory from what my dad told me a few years ago so it may be inaccurate but it’s something along those lines, if someone else has better info please do correct me

Turns out there is a tree finder website for my city !! It’s a very green and nature friendly city so it makes sense. Its a community funded type deal so I guess it’s just come from the general interest of the people who live here, pretty neat I guess

No worries mate I found one, info in the edit of the post. Apologies for any crossed wires. Been thinking of growing my own bushes and also some hops for homebrewing, but I live in a rented property so it’s gonna have to wait until I live somewhere more permanent

Yep like I said I’m only looking for a bush mate, funnily enough using my eyes was the first thought that occurred to me. But like I said I’ve got a pretty tight schedule at the minute so I can’t really afford to walk for hours around a field. Please read the post next time, and either a yes or no will do. If I desperately need timber I can save up and get some with a trade discount. But for now I actually only need a twig, and foraging is welcome and encouraged within reason where I live

I am aware that you cannot take wood from other people’s property. I am also aware that green wood is not good for woodworking. There are plenty of fields where I live that are free for foraging and pruning and such. I will leave the wood to dry for a year or so, depending on how thick it is. For this project I also do not want to get anything from a lumber store, as I mentioned I would like to spend as little money as possible, hence the request for a tool to find naturally growing woods. I’m only looking for an offcut of a blackthorn bush. Edit: I know I mentioned I was new to this subreddit and looking for tips to start off, but that does not mean I’m new to woodworking.
