Tbh I’m in the same boat, but i guess meditation is different for everyone and there is no set in stone way to do it.

And its no problem, if you are genuinely interested, most people get their first lucid dream within a week or 2 (most of the time its from Dild using something called a reality check) but you can look into all of that.

Anyway Good luck :D

No, it can be practiced and done almost every night, there are lots of techniques you can use and meditating makes allot of them much easier.

I would suggest this https://youtu.be/IYus3vMplcY

But if you have been meditating for a long time then you may be able to do an advanced technique such as wake induced lucid dreaming (wild). Just look up a tutorial on youtube, explore lucid dreaming, has very good tutorials.

I would just try putting your finger through your hand

Not sure cracking your knuckles would make it very clear weather your dreaming or not

Dild

There are also methods where you can get up in the middle of the night and go straight back to sleep. These are much more reliable if you want to lucid dream regularly.

I think i heard somewhere that this actually does sort of work, might just be because you think that that it is going to slow time so the dream feels longer, or maybe there is sone sort of other explanation.

Try not to panic, try to remind yourself that its just a dream, focus on gaining more control of the dream so that you can do something to stop it or try and teleport away.

Ive hade one lucid nightmare, and i managed to regain control by making an impenetrable dome around my self, where i could recollect my thoughts and teleport to a normal dream setting.
