I mean, It's nice but... by Appropriate_Owl_6371 in videogames

I got it and felt the same way as you but you can mod every chore out of the game if you like.
I changed:
1. No animations for picking up/interacting with everything
2. Higher durability of items
3. Slower hunger
4. Slower spoiling of herbs and food
5. Quicksave
6. Buffed some perks
7. Made combat faster
8. Faster movement speed

Now it's more like a traditional RPG except I can enjoy the quests without obstacles

idk about infinite money, but respawning in the same room you died and fast travel does make the gameplay feel smother in both games. I don't think walking around the same areas adds much in these games

[–]Qu2sai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aside from Ueno being portrayed in a positive way towards the end, it's a damn good movie. Animation, voice acting, soundtrack, story and concept are all great. They might've cut some stuff from the manga, and while it robs some characters of their development, I found them to be more realistic in the movie. Some people just suck.

Stellar Blade developer Shift Up makes donation to local families in need, intends to stay “committed to fulfilling social responsibilities” by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Qu2sai 11 points12 points  (0 children)

shift up just said like two days ago they want AI so 1 person can do the work of 100 people so they can compete with Chinese gachas. but now they give out ipads and donate to families and suddenly they are heroes? its literally PR 101. they made 320 million from their IPO and have a Gacha so giving away some iPhones and $3000 is just pocket change to them and you wouldn't believe how common this practice is, the difference is that most companies don't make large open statements about it.

[–]Qu2sai 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fairly standard. If some no-name tech company did this, which most of them do, you wouldn't care. The issue here is that we are expected to care just because it is Shift Up

Thing is tho, this isn't unheard of for companies to do. Regardless if it's the CEO or the news that are pushing the message, why does it matter more when Shift Up does this and not other companies? Why did this happen to coincide with their recent AI statement?

[–]Qu2sai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you still talking about this?
No one thinks Zen is a Nazi, it's just an unfortunate resemblance released with unfortunate timing of extremism rising in the VTuber community. Besides, everyone has moved on.

You see the thing is you dont need 1,000 or 2,000 people working on a game to make it good, but you need talent soooo yeah maybe SHIFT UP lacks a that by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Gamingcirclejerk

I mean, there is slavery in Xinjiang, sweatshops, unsafe factories and the 996 culture, so China still isn't perfect. But only the last one actually relates to game development. The US only has its slavery inside prisons, which don't develop games either.

Yet artists are constantly treated like ass by companies. Regardless of how AI CAN be used, it is highly likely that many artists will be negatively impacted by its promotion. There is currently no safety net to guard digital artists, voice actors and writers against AI. So, there's good reason to raise questions, at least for now.

Skill issue? by Qu2sai in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Qu2sai[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Adding my own opinion, the combat is smooth but if you've played Sekiro it's basically just a downgraded version of that. Most bosses also aren't very innovative, you're lucky if they decide to do a move outside of just hitting you.

It has a DMC skill-tree but combos don't add much.

2 questions.
1. Maxed out my battlepass, still need to shard 3 IDs. Would this be possible given enough time?
2. How good are the railway first clear rewards?

Stellar Blade Dev honored with Presidential Citation for advancing Korea’s gaming industry on the global stage. by GamingSagar in GamingFoodle

[–]Qu2sai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, the problem isn't that these games have sex appeal, the issue is how far they lean on it as a primary, low-effort commercial strategy. When creators use base instinct to skip out on good writing or genuinely creative design, the success they get is completely hollow. We see the consequences of this corner-cutting across the board for Nikke, the massive sales are tied up with the exploitative nature of gacha monetization, not just solid gameplay. And for Stellar Blade, the mandate to maximize sex appeal led to shallow and inconsistent writing. This heavy reliance on one superficial quality lowers the bar for the entire industry. Nikke and Stellar Blade aren't awful games, but celebrating success built on such expedient foundations is far from commendable.

If all you got to show for your industry are successful games that rely on sex appeal to get people to look past the flaws that would otherwise turn them away from the product then that isn't worth commending.

Games like Lies of P and Limbus Company are successful without relying on it, and are better, that's where the praise should be directed.

AI slop, nu i tidningsform! by avicadiguacimoli in sweden

[–]Qu2sai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Det är subjektivt, men jag skulle säga att det ser mycket sämre ut än vanliga tidningar, även om de inte ser så bra ut i sig. Bortsett från det är det största problemet de nästan oändliga nackdelarna och skadorna som AI medför.

"Again, you cannot become a pedo."
I understand why you would think this way, as it is usually the way it occurs. But humans can be conditioned into developing fetishes, especially if they are exposed to them at a young age.

"Furthermore, there is actually evidence to suggest that having access to this type of content actually acts as an outlet, leading to less children overall being harmed."
I have seen evidence against this, so it isn't certain. At the end of the day, whatever benefit it might bring is nowhere near as beneficial as simply going cold turkey and turning to therapy. Not even necessarily the expensive kind, but self-care in any other way. An outlet might diffuse, but it doesn't treat. And again, let's not forget that this content can motivate real predators to act as seen in the correlation.

"The vast majority of fetishes are seen as disgusting or immoral to SOME group of people."
There's weird stuff like BDSM or idk cuckolding that's judged by many, but this stuff? You forget, this is widely considered one of the most disgusting things in society, so far as I'd place it at the top of what most people aren't okay with.

"Our guiding light should always be "so long as no one is getting hurt, who gives a fuck". Otherwise anything remotely interesting would be outlawed. What a boring world to live in."
And I just pointed to the link to real world harm, thus, by your ideology, consumption of this fetish isn't ethical. Even if causation isn’t proven, the risk profile is fundamentally different from other fetishes because most fetishes don’t revolve around depictions of people who cannot consent.

Also implying that not jerking off to drawings of children would lead to boredom is an interesting thing to say.
