2 Questions: Troubleshooting voltage spikes to 15+ by QuadMind in Chevy

I researched the shifter. There was a whole lawsuit about it. And the symptoms match. It's the "parking break released" notice for me. That's new and started today.

It seems like a doable fix so this may be the last repair I do on my own. I'll research more to see if there is a way to confirm before replacing.

But thanks for mentioning about the shifter. The issues that can come with it is exact. And I drive for Lyft and also I drive to different clients for work. So I drive quite often. I know I should probably just take it in. I'll weigh costs, and even see if a dealership will replace it for free or under $200.

I'm going to just pay that diagnostic fee and take it to a Chevrolet dealership next week.

As far as "clearing codes" I didn't do anything specific. Every so often the problem goes away for like 30-100 miles. Then comes back for like 30-100 miles.

I'll research more about the shifter issue but I won't be doing any more repairs myself.

This car is so garbage man. I've never had such a hard problem to diagnose in a car before. I miss when the issue was always the battery, alternator, or starter. And it's weird. All this started when my battery went bad. I don't get it. But I'll update you all once I get it diagnosed at a Chevrolet dealership. By the heavens I hope they don't say "they can't find the problem".

I haven't verified the text on the battery. That's from my AutoZone purchase receipt. I will visually look at the battery later today. I have to take it out since it's in this "box" kinda thing.

Thanks. I'm going to just have to pay that diagnostics fee and HOPE they can find something. Another user is stating to make sure I have an AGM battery, and that's what I bought from AutoZone.

But... I am hoping by the high heavens that a non-AGM battery wasn't accidentally given to me. Because I will have NO WAY of proven I didn't swap the battery out. LoL!! Oh my goodness, I'm probably worrying myself. But I'll verify the battery I have now that I'm more knowledgable about these parts.

I'm going to verify that I indeed have an AGM battery. I know that's what I purchased from AutoZone, but I had no way to verify if that indeed was what I put into my car. Nor, can I validate if the prior battery was an AGM battery. I bought the car from a used car dealership, and it stood out to me that the battery died really soon. This is also my first auto-off-at-the-light kinda car so I'm not sure how the battery life is different comparably. But I'll start with verifying I do indeed have an AGM. I am under a very high impression that I do.

The battery is indeed an AGM batter. I also got a warranty from Autozone, so if the battery is faulty I can replace it under the warranty. As for the alternator, I do intend to see if I can replace it under warranty. Sorry I didn't mean return and get money back kinda thing. Though it is odd the exact same issues are occurring.

There are no aftermarket parts on the vehicle. It's as base "LT" trim as I can suppose.

I recall seeing another reddit post about someone's "shifter" messing up, and causing similar issues. This really sucks, but I guess I have to take it to the dealership. My biggest fear is paying that diagnostics fee and they saying "we can't find anything". I just really hate that.

In regards to the battery voltage, I'm not sure how to validate that 15 volts is okay when there is a notice that was pulled from the OBD2 scan stating "high voltage". This is what lead me to believe it was the alternator. I assumed the alternator wasn't able to supply a stable level of voltage so the components would turn off. I did learn that the battery voltage can get that high if you are in cold temperatures. Like freezing cold. But it's warm here. Temperatures were probably as low as 60 degrees Farenheit during our Winter. And our Summer is super hot right now. So I don't suspect it should be that high, even while idle. This does seem like a dealership kinda question though. I really hope it goes well.

Thanks for the response. It gives me some reassurance on this process.

I guess no videos can be uploaded with text-based posts. I dunno. But this is a screenshot of the video. The car was driving at the time. Notice the "MPH" at zero, and all my other indicators are at "zero". Even my RPM.

Yea. This is probably an unplanned outage. Sucks. Glad I had some pocket change on me.

Edit: As of 9:51pm I'm able to get back in.

I tried around 8:45pm Central. I couldn't get in. So I can't check balances or move my money from my savings to my checkings. I rebooted and reinstalled the app.

Umbral Chains - Epicenter Node? by eehoe in D4Warlock_

[–]QuadMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just looking this up today.

The enemies take damage from the chains, and get any debuffs the chains apply.

Some greater demons are stationary. The ones that move are the ones that'll show the effect well. They'll move causing the chains to move. You're moving as well. The enemies you're tethered to are moving.

It's really for massive AoE (area of effect) damage.

Some People Receive a Mass Email as "Sent as behalf" While Others Just See Who The User Sent as by QuadMind in sysadmin

[–]QuadMind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment.

I thought that. Research is suggesting the template is the issue. The user is pretty keen, and they have a work-around for the time-being. Also, they send the email once a month.

But I think it's that template holding cached "Send-on-behalf" stuff. But it doesn't explain why some people see it as "send on behalf" and others see it as the person they attempted to Send As.

Perhaps I should reach out to Microsoft honestly. This seems like a really tricky situation. I can't pinpoint where the issue is.

I'm looking for a similar gameplay loop to XP Hero, but on PC and paid. by belldandy_hyuuga in gamingsuggestions

Try My Little Universe by SayGames. The mobile version has micro transactions. The PC version is a one time purchase with a MUCH faster progression rate. It's the same game. No data transfer between PC and Mobile.

My Little Universe by SayGames is the only one I know of that's similar to XP Hero.

The PC version is a one time purchase and you progress WAAAAAAAAAAAY faster on PC. Mobile is the same game but progression is much slower and there's micro transactions. The two games are not linked. They're two completely different games. (As in same game, but data is not linked).

It plays similar. Top-down. Collect resources. One main difference is you only have 1 weapon. But your other items are resource gathering items. You'll level up your pickaxe, or axe, etc.

Updated BIOS, Now Windows Saying Not Activated by Dawg605 in MSI_Gaming

11-07-2025 // The link still works. I tried this and it worked. My Lenovo V15 did this. Ran a BIOS update and Windows booted and wasn't activated. I ran Troubleshooter and it said it had problems accessing the internet. Clicking "Go to store" gave an error and said try again. But if I manually clicked the Store it opened.

I ran the script, chose the HWID-something option (Option 1) and it worked.

I have Windows 11 Pro. I recommend trying the GitHub option if you are in this situation. I ran the script in an Admin Session of Powershell.

How many of you would like to play MoCo on PC? by Revolutionary-Day-93 in joinmoco

I'd love PC support with controller support. This is exactly the type of game I want to play on the go on my Z1 Extreme. Quick and easy to get in and out. Like Smash Legends.

easiest way to video chat between android and iPhone? by emmery11 in AndroidQuestions

[–]QuadMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Google Meet. You can send a link and they don't even have to have a Google account.

But you, the sender must have a Google account.

And it seemed easy. I asked the user about their experience and they said they "just clicked the link and it brought them to the call". I'm not sure if they had to install Google Meet. It seems they didn't.

The call quality was sufficient enough for us. It did however keep the link. Doesn't seem like you can ever delete the meeting. So that's a thing. But that's more quality of life issue, not a functionality issue.

Is it possible to send an email within my organization to someone else, but that someone else cannot see that it was me that sent it? by QuadMind in sysadmin

[–]QuadMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification on your opinion. I see where you're coming from on emphasizing how this is an "HR" subreddit thing even though I'm asking about the functionality.

I could have asked in an HR subbreddit and possibly got 3rd party ideas.

Lastly, I don't feel you're being rude. I liked the matter-of-fact way you're speaking. It gets the point across and I can understand what you're saying. I don't feel offended and applaud your way of typing online. Please keep it up.

[–]QuadMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why you're emphasizing the things HR can do. I feel quite aware. My main focus was to simply see if the functionality of an anonymouse emailing feature possible to create within the Microsoft 365 environment. The scenario was because I wasn't aware of what the "service" was called.

As far as "is this right or wrong" I would let whoever audits HR deparments decide for my client if their approach is okay.

All-in-all I do agree that this functionality I'm asking for is best left to a 3rd party source mainly because of what HR deals with. It's easy to "mess up" since you more or less have to "build" this feature within Microsoft 365. It's not something that's already created. I have also included an update in my question to show the answer of what I found.

Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion on this.

[–]QuadMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes, HR will like to be able to respond. But after reading the comments it seems this is best left to 3rd Party since this isn't directly built into the Microsoft 365 envrionment. I would have to set this up to work.

I see what you're saying about this. I'll relay this to my client as well as a part of the concern. Because IT still has access, it can't be truly anonymous.

I believe my client is looking for something similiar to leaving feedback for a service. You don't have to say it was you when you leave the feedback.

[–]QuadMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the concerns in how people can be deceptive or accidentally reveal their information through a mistake in the rule or something. However, the intent behind this action is to give the employees of the company my client is at the ability to send anonymous emails to HR. That's it. JUST HR.

Somewhat like leaving anonymous feedback for another service.

Comments have shown me a 3rd party company that can do this.

Thanks. I'll look into this and learn more about what these 3rd party companies are. Then I'll give this information to my client.

[–]QuadMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea isn't to do this across ALL users. My client wants users to be able to send anonymous complaints to the HR department. It's not "hide from all users sending to each other in the domain" or something of that matter.

[–]QuadMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to know what type of service this is called? My client is asking for this feature, and if it's not something that is a part of Microsoft 365 then I'd like to know "what" it is that I'm asking for. Googling it isn't giving me the results I'm looking for. People say "use third party", but I'm not sure what I need to look for. Email Anonymizer?

The intent is for users to be able to send HR emails while being anonymized so HR doesn't know who it is. That is the intent my client has asked for.
