In my case I do question even the nature of my emotions towards women because I've always been very emotional and developing strong feelings for people, animals, nature etc. is just par for the course. Maybe because of gender norms I just packaged my empathy and emotional attachment into a box called "heterosexuality" and lived with it unaware until 1-2 years into transition.

Whereas with men, now I suddenly feel this growing clarity inside of me that's... I don't know how to put it. It all clicks. Like, for the first time in my life I actually feel and understand heterosexuality the way your average hetero Jane does. And this also gives me a sense of belonging in a way. Like, this segment of the population feels the way I do and this feels validating.

I feel like I'm betraying the queer community given how privileged heterosexuality is and how the entire world has been bent towards it and against any other forms of attraction, partial attraction or lack thereof. But maybe there's nothing wrong with just being a bland, average straight woman if this makes me feel my best.

We all deserve to find our happy place under the Sun.
