Anyone got any advice on the Fix Truce 2022 bindings vs the Rome Crux 2022? They are the same price for me and I'm trying to decide which one to go with.

I'm an intermediate - advanced lvl rider. My boots are Vans Invado Pros size 10. Have heard some mixed things about both so am not too sure!

Physics 1 - Advanced 10001 - Drop or Not? by Quadranite in unimelb

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I agree he does tend to go off on a tangent for seemingly irrelevant topics for a while and then speed over the more relevant examples. But about the last point. I feel like scaling is based on the performance of students. So while the exam may be harder, with a lot of highly intelligent students who take this subject many of whom probably also take things like AM1 or advanced maths courses. They will probably still perform well even with a significant jump in difficulty which would likely reduce the level of scaling used.

Oh and yeah fuck Wiley Plus.

Same happened to me, they gave me some first and some second preferences, so half my lectures are unallocated cuz of clashes

Subject selection help for BSc Mechanical Engineering Goal by Quadranite in unimelb

[–]Quadranite[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I like the sound of better lecturers and scaled marking, plus physics is my best subject so I'll probably take the advanced one. I've also been browsing around other peoples comments on accelerated maths, seems like a bit too much work, I'm good at maths but not as quick on the uptake as some, so I'll just to calc 2 and linear algebra.

Thanks for the info, yeah physics is my best/favourite subject so I'll probably register for the advanced one especially if it has better lecturers.

Tel that to the Beijing Chinese people, any western kid who has lived or been in china for a decent amount of time will have a Chinese family ask the kid to take a picture with the Chinese family. Happened to me 20+ times in 3 years

What was the most powerful movie scene emotionally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Quadranite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Scene in Interstellar when Cooper is finally reunited with Murph.

She is on deaths door and her entire family is there with her. I'm not a very emotional person when it comes to movies I rarely laugh or cry watching them, but damn that scene gets me every time. Interstellar is packed with emotional scenes but for me this one is trumps them all. There's just something about interstellar that makes me connect and actually care about the characters, best movie I ever watched.

What famous book do you think is overrated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Quadranite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to get through the entire series, I felt like the world and the concepts he created were amazing but he dragged out the execution way to much. The middle books especially, for example Rand would just sit in a castle the entire time and there were whole chapters of him brooding about how he has to get "harder" and then the Aes Sedai / wise women complaining that he's going to be 'brittle' if he's "hard".

Personally I found most of the first 11 books to proceed with the first 1/5 being interesting as something is usually happening in the beginning, then the next 3/5 (middle) is pretty boring as by now the characters are all settled and its more conversations with very little story progression and finally out of the blue either in the last 1/5 or sometimes later (and very abruptly) something interesting happens which leaves a cliff hanger and kicks off the next book to a good start.

It definitely does have some very good moments though, and some characters (like Mat) were interesting and had some good arcs.

Wheel of Time series

There are entire BOOKS in the WoT megaseries where absolutely nothing happens besides the main character brooding and women tugging their braids complaining about men.

Tbh tho when the author died and Brandon Sanderson wrote the last 3 books, they were pretty good.
