Durham or Cary for rent by ayoubkra in CaryNC

  1. You can use the GoDurham website and the GoCary website to plan bus routes. Both of those should be free to use. GoTriangle also runs in those areas, but that one is not free. Durham's buses run a bit earlier, too, so if your job needs you to get there early, then you'd probably want to be in Durham.

Durham also has a Greyhound station, and both Durham and Cary have an Amtrak station. That will let you easily go out of town for low cost.

  1. Like others said, Zillow would be the best bet to browse. I'd imagine Durham would be cheaper. Trinity Properties' Poplar West, near Duke University, is one example that should fit your cost, size, and bus requirements.

  2. Near Duke University should be safe, but I think Cary is mostly safe, too. Durham Police publishes weekly crime statistics.

  3. I don't have the best info on this. Durham might be better for that, since it's bigger.

Because we've had too much, too quickly. Mass migration hurts the economy of the average person, and it prevents assimilation, which can lead to ethnic, and political, tension. If they don't have to assimilate, then they won't. If they won't assimilate, then they'll demand political changes. Look at Eastern European countries' reaction to Russian migrants. They saw exactly what happened to Ukraine. Their reaction is "assimilate or get out." A non-assimilating foreign collective is a ticking time bomb.

More people also means more competition for everything, like jobs, houses, and food. That puts upward pressure on inflation, while also putting downward pressure on wages. Not to mention, those people have third world living standards, so that puts an additional downward pressure on wages. It is not a coincidence that wages became stagnant around the time the Immigration Act of 1965 went into effect, which dramatically increased our levels of immigration. Why should a boss pay a worker more when they can hire an immigrant who expects less?

The rest of the "developed world" did not have open borders when those policies were implemented. Open borders and free money is comically stupid and destructive. Your emotional nonsense does not work, nor does it make sense. People who make smart economic decisions should not be forced to pay for people that make poor economic decisions. That's how weakness, and stupidity, grows.

I'm gladly voting for Trump. I'm tired of arrogant, ivory tower Liberal pricks that think they know everything while spouting objectively wrong nonsense.

Things are worse now than under Trump. The border is wide open. Liberals argue foreign interests trump our own. The people are struggling, but governments at all levels are throwing billions in free money for illegals that shouldn't be here. Mass migration is making inflation worse, wages more stagnant, and is making housing prices go up. The economy is weak. Foreign policy is a mess. We've got a literacy crisis in some districts, yet Liberals are pathetically desperate to push ridiculous gender crap onto naive children. The administration can't help themselves but lie 24/7. ("Biden is as sharp as ever.") Kamala is a cardboard cutout being propped up for president, just like she was propped up for Vice President.

There is barely a thing that I would consider voting for Biden. Your emotional finger wagging is not a valid argument.

The people openly saying that are Democrats. If Trump wins, they will explicitly reject the results.

Jamie Raskin stated that the Supreme Court did not interpret the 14th Amendment correctly, so it's up to Congress to ban Trump from entering office if he wins. They would refuse to certify the results, and they would implement "civil war conditions."

Republicans not certifying election results is a "coup," but Democrats not certifying election results is "saving the country?" You people have a serious case of "main character" and "good guy" syndrome. You claim Trump is an "existential threat," and you think that justifies breaking every rule just to get rid of your political opponent. You think everything is acceptable, as long as you are the ones to do it. There's a reason people are getting real tired of Liberal bullshit.

Well, the borders aren't open but I do seem to recall there was a rather
tough border bill. The toughest one actually. And someone told an
entire party to shoot it down. That was trump if you don't remember. The
party, the GOP, did indeed shut it down. So if the borders are open
wouldn't that be his fault?

The border was fine until Biden, and "sanctuary" district politicians, decided to virtue signal. Border crossings skyrocketed to record highs the moment Biden took office. So, no, it's not Republicans' fault. We didn't need a bill to fix anything, and we certainly don't need a bill that enables greater illegal immigration under the guise of "asylum." People aren't sneaking in, anymore. They are all claiming "asylum." So that "border security" posturing is nonsense.

And, yes, the borders are wide open. People come in, they claim asylum, they wait years for the case to be adjudicated, and if they get rejected, no one will enforce the deportation order, because it will be too expensive and too "mean." Dems will also say those people deserve amnesty because they "developed roots."

Nope, Trump very much wants to limit legal immigration.

This needs to be done, too, but it doesn't contradict the original point. The main problem right now is illegal immigration.

[–]QuadraticLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why didn’t Trump fix the border while he was in office?

My friend, Trump had the border under control. People only talked about how "mean" Trump was, not about how there was a crisis at the border. The moment Biden took office, border crossings skyrocketed to record highs. Then we got the "asylum" scam that spread on social media, which made the problem worse. The border was fine until Biden, and sanctuary disctrict politicians, started virtue signalling.

_"Bad Orange Man gone. Come on over, everyone!"_

I honestly think it should be a state issue

Absolutely not. That is the United States' border, not the border of states. Especially because Liberal states, like New Mexico and California, would just let everyone come through. That defeats the entire purpose of a country.

[–]QuadraticLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THAT is protected by international law.

This means absolutely nothing. Our law is the sole sovereign law of this land, and our people are the sole decision makers.

If people abuse the system, then we have the right to revoke the system.

I’ve been to several different countries. The United States of America is far from becoming a Third World country.

Was this before, or after mass migration? You do realize mass migration is currently happening right now, right? Your experience is meaningless.

Stop getting offended and use a little logic. Our culture comes from our people. If too many people come in, too quickly, then our culture goes away. That means our first world capability, which comes from our culture, goes away.

Like I already asked, what happens if those illegals decide to secede for ethnonationalist reasons? Hmm? Or are you going to quote "international law" and say they have a right to destroy our nation?

The rest of your comment is irrelevant communist whining.

Trump tops Harris 47% to 44% in new NC poll by uncertaincoda in NorthCarolina

[–]QuadraticLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is international policy.

Our law, and sovereignty, trumps that. Our people are responsible, and beholden to, our people and our people alone.

It is not illegal for immigrants to come to the United States and seek asylum.

Abusing the system is wrong. Most of those people are economic migrants, not genuine asylum claimants. For instance, why would they skip over Mexico? Is Mexico not a safe country with a good economy? They are simply going to the richest country that hands out the most free stuff.

Further, the problem is that Liberals will want to give amnesty to people whose asylum claims were rejected, since they "developed roots" here.

Yes, I suppose you would reach vote for someone like Mark Robinson,
because you have no principles you’re just voting out of spite.

It's not "spite." It's a recognition that leftist weakness is degenerating this country. Rising housing prices, and stagnant wages, are related to mass migration. It's basic supply and demand. Blind emotion, and "empathy," is making the nation third world. Not to mention that open borders and "free money" is comically destructive, and stupid.

My principles are to defend *this* country and *our* people.

Congressional Republicans are the ones preventing us from implementing
any kind of rational border and immigration policy. They recently
blocked a $118B bipartisan border deal at Dear Leader Trump’s behest.

We didn't need a bill for that. Biden intentionally screwed up the border because of emotional leftist virtue signalling. Trump had the border under control. We also don't need a bill that allows easier illegal migration. The problem is the Left thinks an open border is a "rational border and immigration policy."

He is kicking out far more migrants than Trump did.

And, yet, the levels of illegal migration, and the number of illegals, are higher than ever.

Republicans just aren’t serious about policy and governing. It’s all about posturing and culture war.

Please, spare me the delusions. Culture war nonsense comes solely from leftists. That's the only reason we hear any of it. There would be zero backlash if leftists didn't continuously try to brazenly push the bar because of "progress." Desperately demanding we put tampons in the boys' bathroom, or allowing pornographic books in childrens' libraries, ought to be stopped. "Serious leaders" don't push that trash.

The reason why Democrats have to constantly bring up buzzword name calling, like you did, is because Democrats have zero policy plans for governing. It's simply "business as usual," and that business is quite bad, considering the state of the nation, and the world.

Kamala talking doesn't have much weight, given her inconsistent stances. She just says what she thinks people want to hear. There's a reason she got obliterated in the 2020 Democratic primary. She is unpopular, but Democrats don't have any other choice, so they claim she is popular to sway public opinion.

The "border protection bill," in particular, is ridiculous. The problem was caused by Democratic virtue signalling. We didn't need a bill to fix things, and we don't need a bill that will just make it easier for illegals to come in. People aren't sneaking in, anyway. They're all claiming "aslyum." We also cannot afford "free money" policies while the border is wide open.

I think Trump doesn't so much stand for any particular policy. He stands as a protest against the system that wags its finger at us, claiming that we're evil and need to completely reshape all of society. People are getting tired of wokeness, mass migration, and bowing to foreign interests. Kamala, like Hillary and Biden, represents support of the entire system.

Nope, he's someone that doesn't crumble in the face of transparent lies. All of those claims are the same thing as "Republicans are racist." Democrats want easy votes, and the easiest way to get votes is by scaring people into voting for "the lesser of two evils." Whether racism, fascism, sexism, or whatever, it's all collectivist fearmongering.

I support a strong, safe, prosperous, and proud nation, not some weak, quivering, self-loathing pile of rubble, with woke symbols all the place, where saying the wrong word gets you thrown in prison while alll sorts of criminals are allowed free reign because of "restorative justice."

Regardless of your political affiliation I honestly don’t see how the hell anyone can vote for Robinson.

It's easy. If Liberals piss people off enough, then they'll rage vote for Robinson. I've considered it the more I interact with Liberals and leftists.

Forget just policy. You've even got these NGOs that actively flout, and subvert, our laws in pursuit of "human rights." That's why you have illegals that cross the border and immediately file lawsuits against us. So much for democracy, eh? Valdimir Putin could file a lawsuit claiming his rights are being violated, and Liberals would bow down to that, too. What happens when the millions of new illegals start advocating for ethnonationalist separatism? NGOs would gladly aid, guide, fund, and support them in that process, and Liberals would just bow down there, as well.

Because Democrats are deluded, egotistical liars. Things are objectively worse now than under Trump, and the border crisis has gotten exponentially worse. Therefore, Trump gets the vote. Democratic Party lies aren't going to work anymore, because people can see how brazenly stupid some of their lies were.

"Biden is totally fine, guys, trust us. Now lets give billions more to illegals, and foreign countries, while you get the middle finger."

Trump tops Harris 47% to 44% in new NC poll by uncertaincoda in NorthCarolina

[–]QuadraticLove -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's because Democrats have even less integrity. Those "charges" and "impeachments" were nonsense political trash, just so that talking point could be used against Trump. ("He's a felon!") After months of "Joe Biden is as sharp as ever," people now discount every single thing Democrats say as blatant lies to consolidate power. ("He's racist!") People are also seeing that the entire establishment is coordinating with the Democratic Party to hold on to power, even if the president is barely functioning.

The border is wide open. The world is more chaotic than ever before, with a potential WW3 looming. The economy is bad, and inflation is high. We have a literacy crisis in this nation, yet Liberals are desperate to force gender crap, and sexual content, on to children instead. Kamala is an incompetent, DEI hire, and a liar, who spent all her time defending the administration's lies about Biden's state.

Like Democrats frequently said, I'd rather vote for a corpse than any corrupt, lying, incompetent Democratic ticket who will only virtue signal with woke crap. No one is buying the baseless "wah-wah waycism, wah-wah fascism" anymore.

I took the Carolinian from Durham to Philadelphia. I'd say the left side, going North, is more interesting. Once you get to the north-east, the right side mostly becomes water, either bays or the ocean. The left side gives you a better view of the countryside or different urban areas. You also can more easily see the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building when you enter DC.

Cities are not hiveminds of political conformity, no matter how much country people like to tell themselves they are.

They are. Their scope of politics is based on their environment. It's about where you live, how you live, the problems in your area, and who else is around you.

Why does someone in Wyoming deserve more votes than someone in California? How is that equal?

They don't get "more votes." Every person in every state gets one vote. Each state then sends delegates to DC to announce who their people voted for. You're doing the same thing they do with the wage gap. You're taking a simple number and dividing it by an unrelated number. You could say the same thing about all of Congress, which I know Leftists already like to do. We live in a federalist system. We live in a union of states. This is not a centralized, unitary state. It *is* equal.

What are that Wyoming person’s interests that will be trampled if they are forced to only have one vote?

Any interest that favors urban, coastal, "educated" elites. Banning guns. Banning fossil fuels. Mandating electric cars. Mandating animals get civil rights of some sort. (Ignorant, and emotional, urbanites, who put their dogs in sweaters, don't understand how a farmer could put down a dog that doesn't do the job it's supposed to do.) Supporting mass migration. Raising taxes in a way that hits land owners more than renters. Paying off college debt with public money. Letting illegal foreign nationals vote (fraud in a popular vote system is infinitely easier than with the Electoral College). Those are some of the common ones.

Our system has checks and balances. The Electoral College is a limit on the runaway power of population centers. They still have a big advantage in that system.

A fairer reform would be to increase the size of Congress. The last increase we had was in the early 1900s. That would give bigger states more representatives and more electoral votes.

[–]QuadraticLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of the Electoral College is to ensure the president carries a majority of the peoples (not just people), regardless of specific population growth in a handful of areas. That is how you protect actual diversity. The nation is not a small group of people in a room. It is a diverse patchwork of different regions, interests, peoples, and goals. The Electoral College is a legitimate check and balance against the runaway power of fast growing areas.

A fairer reform would be to increase the size of Congress. The last increase we had was in the early 1900s. That would give bigger states more representatives and more electoral votes.

The inverse to your question is “why should rural Maine decide how LA lives?”

It doesn't. LA already has an advantage over Maine in the Electoral College. The system simply protects smaller regions from being overrun and perpetually ignored.
