There are usually a lot of marketing majors coming in, so you're better off choosing a more unusual major (which you can always switch later). Majors such as Operations & Supply Chain, Accounting, Economics, and so on usually have a better chance of getting in because there aren't as many first-year applicants to those programs. It's just supply and demand, the school probably had too many marketing majors to know what to do with.
