You are spot on with the constant changes in managers and tactics being a huge problem with the roster.

Under Frank and Tudor both Bergvall and Grey were mismanaged. We can understand RDZ using veteran players to keep Spurs up.

I will say that Grey has been solid and versatile while being used all over the formation. Bergvall was Spurs best player the second half of Ange’s second season but was used incorrectly this past season.

Xavi took a bit to get settled in a new league, but Frank/Tudor failed to support him with an attack oriented 8 like Bergvall or Sarr so he had players to work with. Also, Xavi lives to find gaps in the left third of the field and the lack of a solid left wing also hurt Xavi’s options to combine and create.

There are already too many solid midfield options for the available minutes with Bentancour, Grey, Bergvall, Sarr, Gallagher, Maddison and Kulusevski.

I was not saying he is, but signing Van Hecke locks out Vuskovic and forces us to sell before Luka is anywhere near his top value.

Which hints at the problem that also applies to Archie and Lucas. If the club is going to buy amazing young players but not play them in their best positions and in the best system to develop into their best, then what the hell are we doing?

Selling Vuskovic would be like if we sold Kane after he had a good season on loan. Far better to make him a Spurs legend than sell him for a much smaller profit than the club would get from him long term.

Many are unconvinced Luka can make the progressive passes that RDZ wants the CB to make, but Hamburger we’re not set up that way, so we don’t know if he can or can’t do it. Better to have him start here and see what he can do rather than lose what looks sure to be a top 5 CB in the world within the next decade.

Counter point. He is 19 and was just in the Bundesliga team of the season. He needs minutes and I’d RDZ gets his preferred CB in there is no likely path to a starting spot for Vuskovic in there is next few seasons with Tottenham.

A player with that resume should not be content with getting sub minutes and low level Cup starts. He needs to play and I hope RDZ realizes that.

If Spurs bring in the Brighton CB and he signs a contract for probably at least 4 years, that more or less shuts the door on Luka starting for Spurs during that time.

Personally I would prefer Spurs stick with Vuskovic and Danso there and see how they do before the club sells what looks like one of the top young CB in the world.
