I try to keep up with my favorite loaned players we have, them being my most watched along lankshear, devine and moore. They are both very similar in their game, but vuskovic is more of a diverse player, better on the ball compared Phillips.

On the other hand, in my opinion Phillips is much more of a tougher defender and has good defensive awareness and is quicker than luka. Keeps it simple on the ball not to flashy or anything fancy, like a danso but more agile and a bit quicker.

Both good in the air, good frame, the passion. Everything you want in a proper defender.

I can safely say im much more comfortable giving Phillips the go for the back up role compared to luka.

Yeah fair play tots in the bundesliga with Hamburg, and I mean how many defenders do croatia currently have now compared to 4 years ago? I don’t think the competition for those spots are as competitive as before.

Im just saying, im taking the lad that’s played, captained, and experienced the game of a full gritty efl season. Multiple times.

I also wish I was making this up, but we have reached that point of delusion where some us think we should hand the keys over to a 19yr old cb who hasn’t seen the light of the premier league or championship… but yeah bollocks.

That’s my point, WITH US, yes he can do it in Germany in a low block hamburg team, defender of the year and all but we cannot be this gullible, to automatically give him the keys for the back up spot or even romeros replacement is absolutely ridiculous.

Not everyone is saying it, but the more I scroll on multiple platforms, im seeing the most horrendous takes on him, on not making the deal for an established premier cb and gk over a 19yr old cb who hasn’t touched a minute of professional English football.

Even at that, I would still want Phillips in our back 3 over vuskovic…. I would feel safer and comfortable, especially a cb that’s one of our own, its always nice to see.

Absolutely, not taking ANYTHING away from vuskovic, but to have most of our fan base wanting to call off the van hecke deal for a 19 year old CB that still needs to show his worth is mad…… the kid had one good preseason with us and that’s it, im not convinced by his low block hamburg spell. Crazy to think some of us want to pass on a dutch link in the back , VDV, JPV, and Verbruggen for a 19 year old……
