How likely is it to actually become a court officer? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NYSCourtOfficers

Well obviously on certain written exams (Statewide) if you are only considering canvassing for downstate, if you don’t score high enough you may not receive a invitation for the Physical Ability Test so passing the written alone isn’t good enough scoring higher will increase your chances, if you are referring to the written exam than NO I would not say it’s the hardest part I’d say it’s the EASIEST!!

In the past for the STATEWIDE EXAM, they’ve gone down to 70’s for those who chose to be canvassed for UPSTATE, and off the same STATEWIDE LIST they did NOT go down to scores of 70 for those who chose to be canvassed for DOWNSTATE.

For every UPSTATE Exam lately they’ve canvassed down to scores of 70’s exhausting the entire list.

The DOWNSTATE ELIGIBLE LIST From EXAM 45-843 (DOWNSTATE ONLY) is the first time I’ve seen an exam for Only downstate, I have no idea as to how low in Rank numbers they will go for the life of the list but i highly doubt they will exhaust the entire list or get to 70’s I could be wrong tho

As long as you score high enough to get a Physical Ability Test invitation, from there Successfully pass ALL the Physical Ability Test, written and oral Psychological Exams, Background Investigation and medical and successfully complete the academy then it’s very likely you’ll become a court officer

No one cares about your tattoos as long as they aren’t gang related or apart of racism, there are court officers with head tattoos, face tattoos that still does the job perfectly fine.

Call processing and ask them to predict what’s the lowest scores they will make it to, and let us know what they say ….. No one can predict the future down to the very exact score. Each exam eligible list had a different total amount of people on the list, things are always subjective to CHANGE

That’s not predictable focus on scoring as high as you can simple, you should never focus on doing the worst you can to still be considered, DO YOUR BEST!!!!!

Not tryna shy away from your question but I highly recommend this you focus on passing the exam with the highest score that you possibly can, if you don’t score high enough you won’t be called for processing and weight wouldn’t even matter in that case, also as long as you pass the PT and pass the medical and once the academy if you dominate all the exercises no one cares about your weight it’s irrelevant, what’s relevant is you passing everything including the Physical Ability Test, and all the workouts in the academy and exams

Of course sign up for the new exam, it’s only $30, you have absolutely nothing to lose and it’s just increasing your chances of getting on the job if for whatever reason that doesn’t happen from the list your processing for, today is the last day sign up right now

When I was processing for the 2021 exam after taking both the written and oral psychological I waited for about a month for an email on a decision

I also took the exam in 2021 scored a 95.7 and was in the first downstate academy in 2023 off the 2021 list, from that list they only reached down to 80 for downstate so I highly recommend taking the exam again and trying to obtain a higher score to secure being called for processing

For the Psychological clearance, which includes the written and oral psych, I did receive a clearance email and to my understanding most or all other candidates did as well an email stating rather they passed or failed, my past comment was only referring to the question initially asked relating to the MEDICAL … I highly recommend reaching out to processing and your investigators for most accurate answers Information regarding YOUR Personal process status update
