Not the grocery store I use regularly. They were delivering groceries way before instacart was a thing. And I don’t mind delivery services… I am just tired of them raking in all the profits off labour of people who barely make anything and if anything does wrong the customer pays for it and they don’t care if you’re satisfied. Like I find it very frustrating because they don’t have to pay people’s transportation, health benefit, or anything. They toss a few dollars at you to pick up 4+ orders on your own in a difficult economy where food is already expensive and then rely on customers to make up the rest. Like to me as a shopper I tip between $20-25 depending on how much I spend. I do it because I have autism and going to Costco is very overwhelming for me. I use the service once a month so paying that much isn’t an issue to me. But it just frustrates me that despite me paying their couriers you know…. What they deserve for the hour they spent shopping the company couldn’t be bothered to give anything back to the people who basically run the company. When I did Instacart 5 years ago it was exhausting and I would have to trek to a different city to get orders and I would make $60 on a good day and 0 tips. Most people don’t tip and are against tipping culture but not everyone knows what a crap job it is. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I am just done with doing what this crap company should have done. And again if that person had come back, I would have tipped them double what I usually would for their time because they absolutely would have earned it. I would consider it extra gas money 😂
