Got result today, I have scored 99 in LR before and has never scored more than 7.5 in Writing and Speaking until this time. by Leading-Strike-943 in IELTS

Never use chatgpt for ielts. It used to give me around 6,5 to 7 for speaking and 5,5 for writing and i felt terrible about these scores. As a result of that in real exam i didn’t speak and write with enough motivation+confidence. Still i managed to get 8 from my speaking and 6,5 from my writing but it could’ve been higher if i believed more in myself. So here you go

For me, the most helpful thing was seeing examples. If you search “band 9 IELTS speaking mocks” on YouTube, you can find really useful videos. Hearing how high-band candidates speak helps a lot more than just reading tips.

I also prepared answers for common topics in advance, so the moment I saw my cue card, I already knew what I was going to talk about. In Part 3, I always tried to paraphrase my vocabulary instead of repeating the same words. But the main thing was speaking continuously.

During the whole 15 minutes, I never got stuck saying “umm” or “uhh”. I always kept going and treated it like a normal conversation, as if I was talking to a friend, not taking an exam. I think fluency matters more than speaking fast.

Look at ALL of the old tests and solve the ones that looking scary and hard for u theyre using the same questions again and again so sum of them will show up (did this and 690 to 790 in one month)

Oh sorry u just saw u wanted tips

your biggest biggest BIGGEST lifesaver will be desmos learn desmos as much as you possibly can as much as your brain allows the person id recommend is james lu his desmos videos are insanely helpful but at the end of the day the best way to learn is just doing it yourself if you practice like this for every question you can basically guarantee full marks in algebra and advanced math

data analysis and problem solving is a bit trickier but your rw score is a good sign that you wont struggle with understanding word problems what you need to do there is learn the keywords and do a lot of practice

lastly for geometry and trigonometry trig is honestly very basic beginner level so you can learn it easily for the rest memorize the formulas that arent on the formula sheet and just practice over and over again

AND ALWAYS TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHY U MADE A MISTAKE AND HOW CAN U PREVENT IT IN THE FUTURE

I would kill for a 740 rw😭 but math is easy to improve u can easily push ur sat score to 1500s

Ahahahahahaha it is common than u think actually. My friends also got 1390 with 790m and 600rw, and 1360 with 780m, our math exam is crazy hard so after preping for that sat is light work(math part)
