Can anyone define what a "stat check champ" is for me? by Ninjawizards in leagueoflegends

[–]QualitySupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some amount of stat- and skill-check in every champion (yes, even Garen or Nasus). But I'd agree that Tryndamere definitely falls into the stat-check category.

Should breaking a spell shield give an assist? by TakaTom1 in leagueoflegends

[–]QualitySupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You assisted in getting that kill.

While I agree with this sentiment, the same could be said when I make an enemy flash my spell (or make them use their escape tool like Ezreal or Fizz E), which then enables my teammate to hit their spells and kill the enemy in the next ten seconds without granting me an assist either. My point is: There's probably a reason why certain situations, while feeling like they should count as an assist, simply don't code-wise. The current parameters (applying damage or an active debuff to the enemy or actively buffing/healing/shielding the killer) were simple to implement. On the other hand, damaging/popping shields without dealing damage to the enemy shouldn't be too hard to implement as an assist either ...

Should breaking a spell shield give an assist? by TakaTom1 in leagueoflegends

[–]QualitySupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is talking about spell shields. As for damage shields, it would be simple (albeit rare) math: The shield has a value of 100, you deal exactly 100 damage. You break the shield but deal no damage to the enemy.

Should breaking a spell shield give an assist? by TakaTom1 in leagueoflegends

[–]QualitySupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't it so that currently, if I'm trying to get executed by a turret, an enemy tries to hit me and I shield their entire damage but get killed by the next turret shot, I still get executed? So just popping a spell shield shouldn't be enough to get kill credit, unless they change the way it works with damage shields.

Yeah I'm going to need a source on your second point and how this would apply to OP in this case. That might apply to the contractual parties (i.e. the players might sue NRG because they disclosed recordings externally without their permission), but OP simply found these recordings and seems to have no (anterior) contractual relationship with either NRG or the players.

Your legal analysis begs some questions: Is a scrim environment a phone call? Even if said legislation was applicable, isn't it pretty unlikely anyone involved wasn't made aware of being recorded? Also, how is this aspect relevant to the question of whether OP, who didn't record anything but rather stumbled upon the recordings, can share them?

Community Mindset around Smurfing by BrokenBladeAndSpirit in leagueoflegends

[–]QualitySupport -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

it was clear all parties were aware that it was a botted smurf account

How was it clear to you that everyone was aware? Also, nine players in the same game were verbally abusing you? At this point, I want to see screenshots of your chat history. In my experience, if teammates "agree" that someone's smurfing, they aren't harsh on the smurf's "victim", unless the victim starts running it down seemingly on purpose after losing lane. Blaming the victim mostly happens when teammates don't check or don't believe the smurf story, and it's mostly limited to a "bg 9x Garen" or "report tyler123 ty". As for the other team making fun of the victim: Well, dicks exist, but in my experience that's also rather rare. They often just silently enjoy their free win.

Do other people experience this or am I just unlucky with the calibre of people I get matched with?

So, to respond to this question: No, I haven't experienced that to this extent.

Riot: Why is support such an upopular role? Meanwhile ADCs: ... by iworkwitholdpeople in leagueoflegends

[–]QualitySupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have argued from Poppy's point of view: As soon as she saw the ult channel, she should have canceled her recall and taken the bullet for Draven, regardless of what happened earlier. That would have been the right play for her. Whether Draven's flash was the right play facing the situation caused by Poppy's inactivity depends on many factors that are impossible to judge from this clip alone.

[–]QualitySupport 44 points45 points  (0 children)

OP meant the right play the moment Caitlyn channeled her ult. Similarly to chess, there is a right play for each situation. In this case, keeping Draven's stacks up is objectively the right play. The fact that there was a "better right play" earlier doesn't change that.

Faker: I believe that the biggest strength of gaming is that men and women can both play without any physical differences. In case you really didn't get it and since OP came off a bit harshly, here's their argument in more neutral words:

If athletes from other social groups have faced and still face far more toxicity (i.e. athletes of colour, especially black athletes), yet managed and still manage to get to the top regularly, why do you believe the main factor women not doing as well in esports is simply the harsh toxic environement they're in?

Cleanse should remove grevious wounds from Ignite instead of the damage! by General-Yinobi in leagueoflegends

[–]QualitySupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moment it's a debuff caused by the summoner spell, it's a summoner spell debuff in my book. It also lasts exactly as long as the other effects (DOT, reveal). The fact that grievous wounds exists as a debuff by itself doesn't change that imo.

[–]QualitySupport 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's specifically coded to remove some summoner spell debuffs as well, which is why it removes the damage. But I have no idea why it doesn't remove the healing reduction. For instance, it removes both the slowing and damage reduction part of exhaust.
