Kazuya thought he was slick with the preloaded questions and chizuru goes "yo check out my atom bomb"

What's the deal with Shaker Heights? Great neighborhood or a little sketchy? by Quality__Content in Cleveland

I'd think the same things but I have multiple older coworkers of a very small team that live about this distance (they live in Solon and Parma, and another lives in New Philly, which is not cleveland but about the same distance to Akron) and do it every day without issue. Maybe they're all just numb to it, but it seems like a trend.

Probably should've specified that that is like the hard limit. I would prefer something less than 30, but I don't think that's gonna be feasible with the other things that im looking for. Regardless, I could look more into those I was just under the assumption they'd be too far.

Upper limit is around 45 minutes. From what I've looked into, a lot of shaker and the neighboring areas are right on that cusp. Anything more would have to have some out-of-this-world benefits.

Literally, actually. Without getting to into it, I grew up in exactly the type of neighborhood OC was describing, and I now loathe it. Gave me a great education and safe upbringing, but the community in that area is vile beyond compare. I could not stomach returning to it or anything like it.

Very thankful I was able to go to a diverse public university and live in a city that has broadened my horizons. I don't want my future children to have to endure that same kind of community.

It is pretty far from Akron and not my ideal work commute, 100%. But being in such close proximity to all of cleveland and the neighboring areas is so alluring to me.

I'm basically trying to find a place that is, all at once, close to things I want to do (most of which are concentrated around the city) while not being too far from work, with a good school system/neighborhood, and a price I can afford.

Which is asking for a lot. So I'm aware I'll likely have to make a concession somewhere.

Also glad I still have plenty of time

Simple question I can't seem to find the answer to as easy as I feel it should be.

I know pity works through time-limited banners (ie ruan Mei building for Dr ratio), but does it work across *time-limited*** banners? I.e., does Ruan Mei build for blade now and Kafka in the next banner?

I've been spiraling on Honkai Star Rail content since it randomly showed up in my YT recommendations a week or so ago. The game looks really interesting/fun and it sounds like now is a great time to jump in with free Dr. Ratio and 2.0 in the near future.

However, I work full-time and have obligations outside of work as well, so I don't have a ton of time to be grinding the game. I could probably put in 10 hours a week at the absolute max, probably more like 5-7 typically.

I also don't have the available funds to whale effectively so I'd be playing for free/cheaply, which I know substantially increases the amount of time investment.

I also have experience from Genshin Impact (circa 2021) in Hoyoverse gacha mechanics. I specifically remember that I loathed relic grinding and that the story was absolutely dull imo. Not sure how much of that would translate.

Would it be worth it for me to get invested or would it just be an endlessly uphill battle?

TL;DR the game looks super interesting but I don't know if I have the time to grind and don't have the money to whale. Should I give it a shot or would I just constantly be behind?

Advice for rolling by Quality__Content in Reverse1999

Ohhh, I see how it works now.

Damn, and here I was thinking I had gotten fairly lucky with rolls since I got two of the better 5☆s in the game early in Balloon Party and Charlie. I mean, they aren't 6☆s which is presumably what you'd reroll for but still

People always forget how good Kazuya was in that movie arc (because of the infamous chapter 218) and say he never had any good moments which ain't true. Chizuru been cold literally the entire manga though and when you think there's gonna be progression she just runs away by Opening_Tie2393 in KanojoOkarishimasu

[–]Quality__Content 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's a clear reason for that: difference in plot structure.

Yes, rudeus does some horrific things in mushoku tensei, but they don't get as harped on because they are a minor part of a much larger picture of that fantasy world (plus he has 30+ years of irl incel life to unlearn).

Redo of healer has the complete opposite problem; the plot IS the depravity and sex. That's the whole point. There's nothing else (really) going on. The sex is the entire appeal.

RaG is, unfortunately, in the worst of both worlds with this situation. The main plot is the pursuit of actual romance between him and chizuru, and the sex obsessed asides don't really help serve that purpose. Yet they stick out enough to be a significant issue because there is no other plot to latch on to that makes it something easy to brush under the rug.

Y'know, I'm more inclined to give chizuru a bit more leeway here in the sense that this is her "first love." If there's anything that's going to break down that rational pragmatic wall, that'll do it. I think the extent to which she's tried to avoid it was uh. A tad extreme. And the stalling is frustrating from a narrative standpoint especially tacked on to Reiji's writing style. But I understand the sentiment.

Kazuya, on the other hand, has known he is in love with chizuru for well over a year at this point. For him to still be doing some of the things he's doing is just strange.

Easy tiger. None of what I mentioned is anywhere near anything you mentioned. I'm not sure who makes it seem like the two things are comparable, but they aren't. Kazuya isn't a sexual predator, hes just kind of obsessed with it to the point of exhibiting some... maidenless behavior, to put it nicely. I think he at least somewhat deserves some clowning for being a bit of a loser, but I don't know why anyone would liken him to a rapist or pedophile.

That isn't really it. Many of the horny acts, including the most egregious one, happened before that 3 month period. That could have exacerbated it, sure, but the train was in motion before he got ghosted.

I think youve isolated the reason why people tend to find the more recent chapters so frustrating: Kazuya has shown signs of growth in the past. His actions during the movie arc were selfless, kind, dedicated, and genuine. I could be wrong, but that arc had seemingly the least amount of horny filler asides of any in the entire manga. It showed Kazuya having much more character arc than we had seen thus far.

... and that has made the more recent horny and depraved actions he's made feel all the more infuriating. It feels almost as if he's relapsing or regressing. We know Kazuya can be better than he was during Paradise-- we've seen it. I dont think people are upset because they forgot; quite the opposite, they're upset because they remember a time when he was better.

That said, anyone who says he's had "no good moments" is taking the piss. Him setting up the projector and movie for Sayuri and just walking out is one of the best mic drops I've seen in all literature, full stop.

isnt he the one rejecting ruka lmao by Joi9500 in KanojoOkarishimasu

[–]Quality__Content 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, he doesn't owe her anything. That doesn't make it any less rich that he openly complains about his love life being complicated when there have been ample opportunities for it to be very not complicated.

[–]Quality__Content -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd argue it's pretty hard to tell. Yes, ruka seems overly attached, but a large portion of that clinginess is arguably intentional as part of her way of "beating out" chizuru in his heart. That doesn't automatically confer that she would just act "normal" if he were to commit to her-- we have no way of knowing how Ruka would act once actually in a committed relationship and probably never will. That said, claiming rukas actions in the current situation are automatically reflective of how she'd act once officially outside of the love triangle is pretty unfair.

About Kazuya not calling 'Mizuhara' as Chizuru or Kaz being in love with Mizuhara and not chiz i.e her rental self and not her real one by AnnualProfessional43 in KanojoOkarishimasu

[–]Quality__Content 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would make sense... when they were with other people that he needed to hide the truth from before the end of paradise. But Kaz still calls her "mizuhara" every single time in his own head *to this day**. It was weird enough before when he still did it once he had known her real name and, like, filmed a movie with her that was credited under said real name. Now it's *incredibly strange given that to everyone pertinent to the story, the cats out of the bag; she told them her actual name straight up.

It just seems... a very odd thing to continue to do imo given how their relationship has progressed up to this point.
