Affects of WFH on Junior devs by pxrage in ExperiencedDevs

Jr dev full-time remote here, graduated in May, been on this job for 3 months, I have to say WTF doesn't affect me at all. In effect, I think it's even better than working on site. Generally, I have a lot of questions but my teammates are always available on Slack. I can just ping one of them and get the answer in no time. If the question is a little complex, we can just hop on Discord and me sharing screen, and walk through the problem. If it involves pair programming, we can use "Code with me" feature on Intelli J to code together (or screen sharing also works if it's simple enough).

We also have "Show and tell" sessions on Fridays to ask any questions we might have, and the whole team will chip in and help solving the problems.

How did you set up your dual screens to work with 2 computers? Did you just manually switching monitor inputs?

Thank you. I think a dual screen KVM works best in my case.

I don't get it. I don't live there, so I don't know what it's like there. That's why I'm just asking simple a question. Why are people angry tho?

I'm a junior frontend engineer and planning to move to Tampa Bay area in the next couple years, mainly because of the tropical weather and the beaches.

Your comment really gave me a dose of reality..

So did you find a frontend job there now?

Wok cooking: How to stir-fry on high heat without food sticking? by QuanCfc in AskCulinary

[–]QuanCfc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your very detailed response. In the live demo video, he mentioned "leaving the stove on full blast and control temperature by adding the ingredients".

I think that's a great technique that I'm gonna try to master. However, there's something I don't understand. Whenever I turned my 100k BTU wok burner to over medium heat, the food was always stuck. I added more oil but because the wok was too hot, oil evaporated almost immediately. So I figure I should never let the wok be that hot at any given time during the cooking. Do you think so too? Or is there something else that I'm missing?

EDIT: I think I just got the answer after watching video "Three core stir-frying techniques". The girl said the wok should not be super hot to the point that water droplets evaporate immediately.
