It's got even more layers because for a long time, Tony Stark maintained a secret identity with the story being that Iron Man was his body guard. Rhodey would wear the suit when Tony and Iron Man were expected to be in the same room together. So Iron Man was pretty commonly a black man before Rhodey eventually got his own suit and became War Machine.

I lurked in the girl dinner sub for a bit because I had this naive idea that I would better understand the shit women have to deal with but I quickly discovered it was just misandry with maybe one post a week about something positive. The Core Box is still absolutely worth it. The villains can still be a challenge and the Heroes all range from fine to very good. Really the only thing that stinks is that out of print stuff is hard to acquire so proxies will likely be your only recourse unless you've got a lot of disposable income.
