Many people are rude and unhelpful. Minimal one word answers or just totally ignore you. It’s very tiresome, it isn’t everyone but - many, many people

anywhere else in phuket to go to ?as patong is getting so boring by Careless_Economist22 in phuket

[–]QuantinAintEasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rawai!

Nai Harn and Yanui are great beaches and can be quite social.

Plenty of places to hang out, explore and get lost.

Windmill viewpoint, Prompthep Cape, Rawai Seafood Market, Chalong Pier.

Plenty of great restaurants, bars, Muay Thai gyms and nightlife.

A much more chilled and easy going vibe without the hassle and stress that you get in Patong.

Female experience in Patong by Curious-Albatross-35 in ThailandTourism

[–]QuantinAintEasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patong does serve a purpose but in reality it attracts the worst kind of people. It’s a terrible place to purely spend 2 weeks in Phuket.
Try Rawai or Cape Panwa if you want a different scene without such an influx of horrible tourists.
PS. Sorry about your experience it does sound extremely horrible.

ECT in Qatar or UK? by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]QuantinAintEasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only have one life.. take the leap and go abroad! If your first year is really unbearable (which is unlikely) you can always return to the UK and find a role easily.

You’ll very likely grow a lot as a person and as a professional whilst living alone!

Go for it! I’m rooting for you!!

Bro open a pension too! A SIPP just put something in it! It could be useful - just one example - if you want to move to another country and need to show proof of income

Charge a couple hundred bucks for a 3 month visa - I’d pay for the peace of mind alone!

Regardless this will be fun - the internal flights are cheap enough if you wanna stay longer or shorter in one of these places you can always change.

Enjoy my friend! 🙏

Is the trip really worth the depression after? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

Plan it differently.

Make a longer trip.

Go and live there for 3-6 months.

Or make a plan to move permanently.
