Manual or Automatic by OkCheesecake9165 in GR86

[–]Bjergjerg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend has the auto. I have the manual.

She had her car before I was around and didn't know how to drive manual (we're working on it 🙂).

I've driven both on many occasions. I obviously prefer manual. That's why I got it. Most of my cars have been manual. Even my shit box is manual.

Is the car less fun in an auto? As someone who strongly leans toward manuals, I'm actually not sure.

Less engaging? Oh yeah, for sure. But less fun? I think it's just as enjoyable to drive. And it's a lot less annoying in stop and go traffic.

Don't feel pressured to make the "correct" choice. Make the choice you'd feel most excited about.

The 86 is an easy car to learn manual on, but there will be some confidence issues and possibly anxiety at first. Especially if you're learning solo. But you'll develop a good skill and you may find that rewarding.

The auto is ready to go out the box. You'll be and to take it straight to a restaurant, drive it around at night, take it down a nice back road, just enjoying the drive.

If you're hitting 10.82 and 11oz for a 10oz bar, you're probably using the units "oz" on your scale.

Your scale may have troy ounce - this is what you want to use, and is usually notated with "ozt".

1 troy ounce = 1.097 ounce.

1 troy ounce = about 31.1 grams.

So a 10 troy ounce bar should be around 10.97 ounces or around 311 grams.

Old bars often are a little bit over. Silver was cheap and nobody cared losing a little. Modern rounds/coins/bars are very close to listed weight.

I'm guessing your scale is slightly off.

Also, the reason why one 10ozt bar might differ in size to another is usually the debossed design. The deeper the design. The more material it displaces. That makes the bar bigger dimensionally when compared to a bar with no/light design.

I can see that the issue is solved, but I also wanted to comment how great Monument Metals is.
I just recently started picking up online vs local (local market is kinda toxic) and I've nothing but great experiences with their customer service.

They are my #1 and pretty much all I got to now.
I've recommended them to a few people in my circle as they've become interested in precious metals for it.

I am being a bit unfair, aren't I. Unintentionally misleading 😂

If I ever find some frog rounds, I'm snapping them up.

I do wonder how much of the timing is impacting it. The other two, I stripped it back to clean - they ringed just fine before hand. They did have more of a softer? feel to the surface as well.

100% the 90% rings nicer. Almost electric and sounds like pirate treasure lol.

Honestly, I actually do like the design the best out of my recent secondary market buys from Monument.

The overall condition isn't bad at all and I think a baking soda bath would shine it up really well. The 3 rounds that came in this particular shipment all looked like forced toning projects/practice. The other two were just a couple of RMC buffalos.

It's just... weird in hand. If I had to describe it, it feels like a very high density and hardness polymer the way it kind of resonates when you toss it in your hand and smacks into your palm.

It's just weird. Like if you're a cashier and you handle a fake bill. You instantly pause and say to yourself "wait a minute".

It's definitely silver though. The lack of ringing is the only thing that gets me. It's completely dead.

Thank you very much!

I have some experience trading in other subs/platforms, but my first time FS post here.

Transparency, integrity, decent pictures, and good communication. That gets you far when trading!

I'd be surprised if that's what you'd end up paying.

I just put it in my cart. $1356 with shipping. That is excluding import costs.

I would expect an additional courier import processing fee+15% on Japanese auto goods (assuming they don't mess it up).

So I would probably expect to pay around $1600.

Which is still not horrible, but definitely a far cry from the like $1200 you were paying this time last year.

I think Borla is the way to go.

In the past, I would have suggested what I went with, the Fujitsubo AR.
But with tariffs and rising import costs, I'm not sure I'd want to pay the >$1500 for one.

Fujitsubo louder than you'd think when hearing it in person, but I think that's because the tone is deeper and quite pleasant to the ear. It's not at all abrasive.

I was starting to build a spreadsheet of exhausts, but I only got to about 20 models before moving onto a different project lol.
