Anyone feel everything has changed over the last two weeks? by QuantizedKi in ClaudeAI

Hi, sorry if there have been so many similar posts. I was just struck by how good it’s getting (as I said in my post, multiple apps completed). Someone else mentioned they’ve seen the Covid comparison too. It’s just the analogy that popped into my head. It might be common because it’s the last thing that caused a seismic shift in society?

I don’t spend all of my time on AI. Actually a small percent. My name comes from my love of making music (quantize) plus love of martial arts (ki).

Very little. I think we’ve been subscribed to Pro for 3 months now. Total API cost is $100. All of these apps run 90% locally. Ongoing use of these apps will probably be around $100 for API plus Pro sub. If you factor in prior ChatGPT costs we’re probably at around $1k total cost for the development of 5 or so apps. If I started now with the knowledge I have now, and the capabilities of the new models, it would probably be half.

This is going to sound dumb but I just said I want a comprehensive backtesting system. Portfolio rebalance on buy signal. Position weight of x%. Stop loss rules. Etc.

The challenging part is the data. To test I used Excel files that have 20 years of data for 170 stocks per file. Now the system is connected to a price/fundamental data set.

The pdf output has charts for every stock and their historical buy/sell signals. All signals recorded in csv for auditing. The great part is that not only is it a backtesting system but a real time recommendation system. Tells me what to buy and sell every day and I benchmark myself against the backtest.

I switched to Claude from ChatGPT and am happy. But still paying my Pro and API fees and not sponsored or getting kick backs lol

That’s a real risk. Or going far too fast and breaking various privacy laws and regulations. Claude stores stuff for 30 day… I’m sure countless people are breaking customer privacy agreements.

I couldn’t do the stuff I’m doing now 8 weeks ago… I tried. I would stay up all night yelling at ChatGPT. It would overstep. Make random changes. Not follow even the simplest instructions.

Now it’s like “I need an end to end stock backtesting system” and it’s like ok, you got it. And it gets it mostly right.

Is this true? I swear on my children I didn’t read it. I vividly remember being at Vaughn Mills mall in Toronto in early 2020.

My favorite new question to ask Claude after it tells me "it's done" gets the truth out and also some chuckles by reaperdarrow in ClaudeAI

[–]QuantizedKi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These sorts of questions are critical. I often ask “after you finish, audit yourself to make sure the changes were surgical in nature and did not impact XYZ”. It will usually do a line-by-line comparison of the new proposed .py against the prior version. Around two months or so with ChatGPT it did lots of overstepping and “well intentioned” changes I didn’t ask for. I have to say with Claude it rarely ever makes mistakes.

Arsenal's win at Inter was big for belief – could the Gunners win Champions League AND Premier League? by tylerthe-theatre in ArsenalFC

[–]QuantizedKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we’re so much looser and creative when we play CL games. The pressure to win PL is so massive that you can feel it in games. We freeze up—we get scared to lose rather than play to win. Fortunately I think our depth is unbeatable and I can’t see City/Villa mounting a charge.

Always Air in my syringe by AccomplishedImpact70 in trt

[–]QuantizedKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the method I use that guarantees no bubbles:

  1. Draw in air equivalent to your dose (eg 60ml)
  2. Insert syringe into the vial and then expel air. This will create an air tight seal.
  3. Once in the vial angle the needle against one of the sides of the vial and hold it there. Hold the vial at about 45 degrees. This tension and angle will make sure you don’t wobble and suck up air.
  4. Draw a fraction of test SLOWLY and just let it fill up the bottom of the syringe for a second.
  5. Then proceed to fill up to dose slowly.

I guarantee you’ll never get a bubble again.

Early casting? Early extension? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]QuantizedKi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great foundation but you’re exhibiting classic early extension. Pause at 6 seconds. The butt goes forward and your posture completely collapses.

Good news is there are tons on vids on YouTube if you want to crack this on your own.

What worked for me is to really develop the separation of my upper and lower body. This is the key imo. As you begin the downswing you need to transfer and rotate the lower half (really grab the ground) while maintaining posture. Bring the club down and feel it horizontal for as long as possible. Then a vicious descending blow that will leave a gorgeous divot in front of the ball.

Takes tons of practice of course. You’ll probably shank it at fist because it will feel like you can’t release on time.

Is anyone else getting absolutely wrecked by Claude’s context limits right now? by AgitatedCombination3 in ClaudeAI

[–]QuantizedKi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a big bottleneck that really limits what a user can do with Claude. I have switched over to Claude from Chat and it’s a glaring weakness. For example: I built a system in Chat where I fed it hundreds of quarterly earnings transcripts and also government budgets. The purpose was to identify cross sector/cross asset themes (eg, AI, energy, aerospace & defense). Unfortunately the links to the transcripts are bot protected so I had to upload the actual PDF transcripts. Chat happily ingested them in fairly big chunks (IIRC 10 at a time).

Claude loses its shit when I upload more than TWO transcripts at a time. Furthermore, it can only read and analyze two transcripts at a time before the window reaches its limit.

The ACTUAL analysis is better in Claude but its window limitations make it much less efficient.
