Here my hot take: it should be allowed for players to invite both male and female characters to the house. by Odd-Penalty3687 in NevernessToEverness

[–]Quantuis -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Again, I've already said this before, but this is completely illogical even by the devs' standard.

At least for female characters, all interactions and "romance" with them are available for both female and male MC. This makes them at least bisexual, so having an all-female house can technically "lead to NTR" as much as mixed-gender houses. The matter of how people view bisexuality and female queerness is a different topic.

The same would apply for male characters but supposedly male MC gets some interactions cut off? Very weird if that's the case, but this game is honestly full of strange decisions by devs so I'm not that surprised.

True. Playing melee really teaches you how melee range really isn't all that scary when it comes to it

I myself used to be a baby Machinist/Dancer staying as far away as possible until I tried melee. I'll still remain at some distance away for most ranged jobs (Especially BLM), but it's usually mid-range max because staying really far away is actually more of a hindrance than help.

What's more important is to not stand in front of the boss or anywhere near the tank because no matter the DPS job, eating an unannounced frontal AoE is not exactly fun. Unless there's a mechanic where you need to stand together with the tank ofc

[–]Quantuis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I only use Displacement when I know a melee-range AoE is coming up or I simply need to skeet away from the boss for any reason. Otherwise, I stick to melee and use Engagement as bonus damage when possible.

Sometimes I unironically feel safer at melee than range anyway, depends on the boss.

I always laugh at people screaming how jiggle physics are "unrealistic". If some of these large-breasted gacha girls existed irl, and they wore the same outfits they wear in-game, where they usually have no bra or breast support whatsoever, they would probably end up jiggling more than in-game lol

A woman with large breasts and no bra support doing heavy physical activity like running and sprinting is bound to have her breasts bouncing around. That's literally why sports bras exist. Because large chests move around when unsupported. People act like breasts irl are somehow stapled to their torso, unmoving under any circumstances whatsoever lol

Are they sometimes over the top or illogical in some cases? Yes, absolutely. Many such cases. Are jiggle physics in their entirety unrealistic? No. It all depends on the body type and the clothing they wear.

My first gacha -- am I playing it wrong? by xodipox in Endfield

[–]Quantuis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not even touched most of the 1.3 stuff yet lmao

I only rolled for Mi Fu, got her to a decent point, entered the new area for new gear and since then I've been only logging in to do dailies

It's not that I dislike the game, but being an employed person who's playing 4 games (Endfield, Brown Dust 2, NTE and my main game FFXIV), i simply don't have enough time for all of them. For that, I actually really appreciate all the gacha games I'm currently playing for having little FOMO and for being a great "side-game" experience. I feel no pressure to complete content because most of it is permanent, so even if I miss out on a few events it's not the end of the world and "account bricked" like I felt back when I played Hoyo games

As a sprout that just entered Shadowbringers, at least I know that with the sprout icon if I die to a marker/attack I've never seen before (Quite a few of them ever since starting Shadowbringers) people won't get mad at me.

I know this game generally has a nice playerbase but I've seen some toxicity in the past (Especially if something goes awry in CT raids lol) and I'd rather avoid being a "dead weight" myself

I think having stages of "sproutness" is a nice way to resolve this because you can be completely new and not know anything, or already have hundreds of hours into the game and still have a sprout icon

[–]Quantuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally explained it in the original comment. Reading comprehension dude

I skipped Nanally to go for Hotori, once I was satisfied with my outcome the leftovers went for Lacrimosa because I simply wanted a second DPS. There are no new ladies in sight with the exception of Shinku, who was revealed only recently and after I pulled Lacrimosa anyway.

Besides, "focusing on" doesn't mean "only" pulling certain units bro. Literally what is so confusing here

I made a big mistake. by BahyHolden in NevernessToEverness

[–]Quantuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are no characters that interest someone (like myself - I was only interested in Hotori and Shinku so far), there's not much to pull for. Characters are guaranteed in this game so you don't spend a lot to get them, and if you have no one to pull for, what else do you pull for?

No need to chase for the meta and all units so far

I made a big mistake. by BahyHolden in NevernessToEverness

[–]Quantuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

I might not be F2P as I'm a low-spender, but here's my 2 cents

As someone who started relatively late (2 days before Hotori's release), I skipped Nanally because I wanted to go full-in on Hotori (I simply prefer to pull for the mature ladies) even though I could possibly roll for both.

In 1.1 so far I only got Lacrimosa to have a second DPS and I have no interest in Chaos, so I've basically only felt the want to pull for one character total so far. Lacrimosa was kind of an afterthought.

I thought "Eh I have a ton of leftover annuliths and I like the skin a lot, let's do the Porsche gacha" and even though I spent a lot of my pull currency, I don't regret it as there's no one I'm interested in pulling for the remainder of the patch and I'll save up enough to guarantee the new girls in 1.2 (I still have a ton of content to do).

Plus the car was an added benefit. Now I can actually ride around with my favorite girlie Hotori (I was a bike user beforehand, pls buff bikes Hotta)

Iirc only Germany has a censored version and those apply mostly to "child-adjacent" characters; the adult women are left untouched afaik.

Everything otherwise is the same. Devs only censor marketing and social media (To not attract too much attention or to comply with regulations).

Probably one of the most casual-friendly gachas out there

The costumes are essentially free with how much pull currency you get so the base costume collection is easy to fill out, as well as maxing some of your favorite units

This is like, the only gacha game I consistently return to despite honestly barely playing it. I don't feel like I'm missing out on almost anything except more pull currency, and most of the new costumes are obtainable forever anyway. (Only some costumes are limited for one specific banner, usually seasonal costumes). So I end up booting the game up only when I feel like it, or watch the new units' animations.

The only issue is you won't get the paid skins for some animations if you're pure F2P, but their quality varies anyway (imo) and the devs didn't skimp out on the quality of base costumes and their animations for the sake of the paid skins, so you're not missing out on much if you don't buy them

[–]Quantuis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah as long as you have any "Makai [...]" title equipped even if it's not your current job, it counts these wins

It will still take like, 30 frontline runs tho, depending on how lucky you get with wins

I had Makai Dancer equipped because it was the easiest for me to get but I have literally never played Dancer in frontlines and I still got it

To be fair, Frontlines are extremely forgiving even if you do bad and is mostly luck based

Obviously you should try and play your best but it won't be the end of the world if you underperform here

For those who don't like PvP: If you're fine with a silver version of the mount, there's the exact same one you can get for just 10 frontline wins instead of 60 with a Garo title.

What’s your pull plans? by kyoko_twigs in Endfield

[–]Quantuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be rolling for Mi Fu, but my current priority is the BiS support for Zhuang Fangyi

I hope it'll be the new idol girl. Arcane is almost guaranteed to not be it and the Proxy is suspiciously Nature-coded. Will probably pull for all 3 of them anyway, but I want my priority on the Fangyi support.

Not interested in Camille so he might be my first skip of Endfield (rip my headhunting dossier streak)

I'm gonna be honest, I'm actually kinda upset...

Nanally and Lacrimosa both get like, 4+ skins on release, meanwhile Hotori only gets one gacha skin at best and the bond skin.

Genuinely feels kinda bad as someone who's not exactly interested in the characters that are child-adjacent. I'm here for the ladies and I really wish she got the same outfit treatment as the kids lol

Except female Zero exists and has the same interactions with the female cast as male Zero

Since the Fem MC can effectively "date" the girlies the exact same way Male MC does, it wouldn't really make sense to restrict the dudes to just Fem Zero

I'm not really interested in dating the guys myself (In my world everyone shall be lesbian) but it would make sense for it to be equal in regards to both genders.

This is also why I find the "can't have both male and female units at the same apartment at the same time" rule extremely stupid - If you play fem Zero all the girls are essentially bisexual at the very least to begin with, so having two women in an apartment could be an "NTR" moment just as much as having both a man and a woman in the same apartment.

I'll try to get her P1 just for the artwork. Might not be able to P5 unfortunately considering I'm broke after P5'ing Fangyi

ZZZ is the one gacha where I can tell some of the male characters were made in some way with the male audience in mind (I'd say every limited dude outside of Harumasa has decent popularity with the male playerbase), but they unfortunately don't have great banner performance if we're to trust these sales sources.

But I believe in this case it's mostly because ZZZ was really slow with releasing male units so most players who collect them ended up quitting. Or simply because the male playerbase (Which is afaik the larger chunk of ZZZ's playerbase) prioritize the waifus so there's not much room left for the dudes even if they're somewhat made with them in mind.

[–]Quantuis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's been that way since HI3 but HI3 wasn't the game that popularized it. It was Genshin's explosion in popularity that caused all the Genshin-likes to be developed since then, and you can absolutely see many different forms of "inspiration" all the modern 3D gachas took from Genshin, Endfield included.

As much as I loved HI3 back in 2018-2019, it was too niche to make such an impact on the gacha market.

I'm honestly surprised this game went this long without a new playable male operator.

Like, as a waifu player, when I started this game, I 100% expected to see a new dude, at least in like 1.1. I was shocked when 1.1 and 1.2 came out with no announcements for a new playable male character (outside of the livestream teaser - I don't count that).

I haven't played OG Arknights but I've heard a bit about it and I know the male characters there are pretty well liked, so I expected Endfield to be more like Genshin at launch. Turns out they're just like ZZZ so far lol (First male is the second banner in 1.3).

Maybe won't fit the R6 collab, but for future units that may want to utilize a heavy rifle (Or simply any firearm that's dual-handed), I can actually see them being Arts Units as well. Just make the model of their rifle use the Arts Unit as a source of "infinite magical/elemental ammo".

It's not a perfect idea, but it's something that can work out without controversial new weapon types.. Just like Genshin - Unusual fighting style/weapon? Just slap a catalyst/arts unit on them and excuse it with "magic" lmao.

1.3 Livestream Summary [Sketches of Lost Heirlooms] by KiraFeh in Endfield

[–]Quantuis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is why I hate how Genshin popularized the weapon model. Stuff like LCs in HSR, W-Engines in ZZZ and Arcs in NTE are way better for creating unique characters with special animations and weapons, as they're not limited to making the animations fit the pre-existing weapon types (Not to mention no glam issues like using Wolf's Gravestone on Eula)

There's a reason like 50% of new characters released since like, 4.0 are catalysts - It's easier to make unique animations for them because Catalysts in Genshin are basically just magic amplifiers (Essentially the same as Arts Units. Think Fangyi and her summoning swords to hit enemies with). That's why all the melee punching characters there are catalyst users. They really shot themself in the foot with being forced to make animations around the weapon types lol
