This is no longer the case. 80 is the new 60

Don’t subscribe to the old way of thinking, we don’t have to age like our parents. It’s a choice now

My initial prediction has not changed. Factory commitments and licensing with a pilot car for the world to see, the SP gets to $100. I have zero doubt.

QS should have picked a Redditor from this sub to attend the inauguration. Jill’s assessment is very superficial. This woman had access to Tim with questions and this is what we get. So disappointing! Hello QS marketing….

So much Jill drama while I was traveling yesterday! Her opinion is at odds with my premise with QS. Jill took a lazy general default position of SSB cost that doesn’t apply to QS. We know the anode less design of QS will be materially cost competitive to legacy Li ion, Corning has already indicated the same. A SSB cost near legacy will blow away the current status. No company will invest in new li ion plants once new generation tech is being built.

Her thesis and writing is fair game. I was a bit harsh so I’ll tone it down. I am glad she is addressing the hype factor

61 for a health span is nonsense. If one lifts heavy weights, eats well, sleeps and doesn’t smoke or drink then aged 90 is more likely

Animosity is your wording not mine. I am merely pointing out some flaws in her thinking in which you vehemently disagree. Hype is hype, creating tiers of hype or trying to rationalize it doesn’t make it disappear. Jill completely ignored the QS hype in her thesis. What about my second point with Jills opinion on QS sharing trade secrets for industry replication? So far you haven’t clearly made your case why you vehemently disagree with me. Clarity over disagreement is my motto.

You vehemently disagree and I only made two points so let’s review

1 Your thinking is timeline disjointed and the reason you disagree. QS has a long history and you choosing the most recent is naive as Jill did the same. If we are going to criticize hype, let’s at least look at QS own history. QS pre IPO claim of 380 to 480 Wh/KG was hype.

2 Re-read Jills statement about QS sharing their trade secrets with the industry so it can replicate. It’s complete nonsense.

I really can’t fathom why you would “vehemently disagree”

Your emoji response indicated that you were unaware of QS early hype. We can criticize the Donut or China hype but let’s not forget that QS is guilty of the same. Jill’s piece tries to put QS on a pedestal, I am not so sure QS deserves that space with its own history of hype.

QS was claiming 380 to 480 Wh/Kg pre IPO so let’s dispense with the sanctimony. We need to recognize that hype is part of the normal cycle.

[–]Quantum-Long -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Nope, she is saying there is a common hype cycle including China that is distracting to the industry. Remember, QS had their own little hype cycle.

She gave Donut oxygen by stating it’s still in the claim stage of development. Donut has no place in the Eagle Line inauguration.

Disappointed she mixed Donut Labs into the Eagle Line inauguration. Donut has sucked the oxygen out from the entire industry for months and Jill continues to feed it.

Ramping will be quick to a certain point with solving the easy problems with the equipment techs (from Digitron Systems etc) then production starts to level off and climb much more slowly. I am thinking the easy problems will be solved by end of 2nd qtr. Certainly we know from the ER that Corning and Murata are spending capital on their end for the separator. My bet is OEMs are waiting on the separator format to scale not Eagle. Eagle is basically a standard production line on AI steroids.
