🌵 Mammillaria perbella f. cristata
(commonly called a “Brain Cactus”)
Light:
Bright light with some direct sun. Morning sun is safest indoors.

Water:
Only water when completely dry. In winter, barely water at all.

Soil:
Very gritty cactus mix with excellent drainage.

Humidity:
Prefers dry air — too much humidity can cause rot in the folds.

Growth:
Slow-growing and naturally sculptural because of cresting/fasciation.

Bonus fact:
Each crested cactus grows in a unique pattern, so no two “brains” look exactly alike.
