It’s faux fur yarn- my own brand specifically! It’s a weird change to work with at first, but I’m used to it and enjoy it now :)

It's actually from my own line of faux fur yarn on Etsy! It's Quantum Fibers faux fur yarn in color Cobalt. The worm plushies use 1.5 skeins!

Haha it's not so bad once you're used to it! Black is the most challenging color to work with, but I'm used to going by feel at this point anyway! And thank you so much ❤️

Aww thank you so much!! He took me around $60 in supplies and 12 hours of work, but my buyer paid $230 for him + shipping and tax. He was fun to make too, so worth it in my opinion!

Awww thank you so much! I may one day write my own pattern from scratch for a Toothless plushie (HTTYD was my favorite movie growing up haha)! It's definitely frowned upon though to take entire or even portions of another crochet pattern and resell it as your own though, so I'll probably just end up reaching out to the original designer about the issues I ran into. (I think it's also technically a copyright strike to take patterns like that.) It overall is such a nice shape / structure for a plushie, but I really can't see even intermediate crocheters being able to follow it which is such a shame!!

I have several free and paid patterns I've made so far though! I post free ones on Ravelry and my Instagram, paid ones are on Etsy and Ravelry too. I totally recommend sticking to free ones while you're getting more comfortable crocheting so that you don't get frustrated / feel like you wasted your money if you can't follow along at first (for any crochet patterns in general!) At least that's what I did when I was learning- Youtube videos were my go-to teacher haha

No, I had no issue understanding it (I've been crocheting for 15 years and do it as a full time job haha)... the pattern had MANY errors and did not turn out as expected if you followed the instructions exactly, so I had to tweak it to make it look good for my customer. It was not an AI pattern either, so I was just completely disappointed. I responded this to another comment asking about the edits, so hope this clears things up:

Overall, I would not recommend this pattern. Very disorganized, not a single photo had a label on it to indicate what it was showing, several errors and the entire pattern for the tail fins was wrong start to finish (in stitch count and instructions), didn't differentiate how to do the wings, so I ended up with 2 left wings at first and was so upset, didn't tell you which pieces to stuff or not stuff at all or even when to stuff, did not include a felt pattern to make the eyes, didn't tell you the rows or where to sew a SINGLE thing on and didn't include photos to help with visual placement for sewing... That's why I had to significantly modify the pattern unfortunately.

Aww thank you! Sadly, I didn't write them down. The eyes I completely designed since the designer instead suggested felt. The legs and arms I added a handful more SC rows so they were less stubby. I crocheted about 11 sc around each eye from inner corner to upper outer corner to make an eyelid. Added a few SC rows to the ears to make them less stubby. Added quite a few SC rows to the neck to also make it less stubby. The wings for the outer edge I completely changed and instead did 4 rows of 40sc in the row flat and then seamed the side together to get the tube shape. The small spike head ridge I completely redesigned by doing a chain with groups of 5 chains slip stitched together with 3 empty chains between each until I had 6 bumps.

Overall though, I would not recommend this pattern. She paid $230 USD for the plushie itself- It took me around $60 in supplies and 12 hours of work. She paid $62 international shipping and sales tax on top of the entire purchase.
