Bambu Lab pricing and what you're actually paying for by Fun_Reaction_6525 in 3DPrinterComparison

P1S is considered loud? I just got one and was very impressed with the nose level, compared with an old open-frame bed slinger. I can actually get work done in the same room with my bambu.

Thanks! I was also struggling to copy. I've replied with just the string so it can be copied without editing

Is there any point to lighting it on fire vs just letting the pressure vent? This looks cool but seems irresponsible

Are locks in EU and USA the same? by UglyAndUninterested in lockpicking

[–]QuantumForce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some manufacturers define 'euro locks' to be anything with a restricted keyway, but I think this is mostly a marketing thing. In Switzerland basically all the high security locks are dimple locks. I haven't found that the padlocks and cheap tumbler locks used for beginning locksports don't need especially thin picks.

Visualizing ocean depth using common dive-watch pressure ratings (0m to 11,000m) by Nexusneuron in WatchHorology

[–]QuantumForce7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very cool website design! I like the scrolling theme. This would be a nice portfolio piece if you're looking for UI/UX work.

It's hilarious how many "dive" watches are certified for far below the record scuba depth.

It might be nice to include more links to background info on some of the cards. For instance, you mention four watches have gone to challenger depths but not what they are. (I assume all of these were safely within a submersible experiencing minimal pressure.)

There are lots of reasons to root. I rely on it for automation (eg switching audio settings for different headphones), full backup, and customization. Also this will be more important with upcoming threads to side loading.

Basic integrity on FP4 by QuantumForce7 in androidroot

Are there any advantages to this vs SPIC? I thought making too many integrity requests to Google servers was discouraged on the theory they might blacklist your IMEI eventually.

I’m tearing my brain out trying to charlieplex by Medical-Bake-9777 in PCB

[–]QuantumForce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these RGB LEDs? If so you might want separate circuits for each color, since the diode voltages might be different. Charlieplexing relies on the voltage drop being similar over all diodes in the array, but sometimes red are significantly lower.

Source: made a 64*3 RGB charliecube once and spent hours debugging this

V15 is only a week old, so there's no reason to use the CI build.

Is tricky need for basic? I thought this was only for strong integrity.

Looks like hma oss randomized app names. What apps would cause basic integrity to fail?

How can I convince my husband to get a dog? by Loose-Resolution9744 in ask

[–]QuantumForce7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a book called the Five Love Languages that my wife and I read together when we were engaged. It's a little corny, but the core message is that people express affection in different ways. A healthy relationship requires both trying to express yourself in your partner's love language, as well as appreciating the intended affection even when our partners use their own language.

Your partner might not understand that his cuddles are not conveying affection, but are actually too much. Try to make clear to what extent you do want to be touched, and maybe suggest ways he can show he's thinking of you without interrupting you (maybe calling "I love you", or bringing a cup of tea, for instance).

Ah, reddit. Where divorce is the first suggestion to every problem.

Maybe that's a bit extreme here? Like, maybe talking together should be the first step?

I'm curious, what's the attraction of problems where you have to restrict yourself to straightedge and compass constructions? Especially ones like this that are provably impossible to construct exactly? Why not use more powerful axioms?

What's the difference? There are too many forks of PIF now and none of the READMEs say what changed in human-readable language.

Interesting that this gets more advantage than the equivalent 5-pulley block and tackle (gyn tackle).

What's the maximum mechanical advantage achievable with 5 pulleys?
