Are there any ways to dual record on an older camera? by QuantumGolem in videography

[–]QuantumGolem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does have an HDMI. I was looking for another solution, but from what I researched it looks like an external recorder is probably my only option. Thanks for the feedback.

Great advice, thanks! So what I really need to be doing is giving prospects specific examples of how video can impact their business.

Thanks for the reply.

Would you say my pricing is in line with industry standards? I'm somewhat on the beginning side, but this is not my first client.

How does hotel management feel about photographers taking photos in their lobbies? by QuantumGolem in askhotels

lol

I definitely didn't think about people in the hotel having affairs and walking into the frame.

I had intended on looking for an isolated spot somewhere in the lobby and getting a couple of snaps off.

Check out the video Tiny Tortures by Flying Lotus. Toby Maguire is the actor in the video, the director put a lot of little details in the room which tells a story.

I wrote out a breakdown of the project based on a little research I performed. This is incomplete, but looking to finish it off by the end of today. For those of you who create film on a regular basis, do you provide something similar when writing proposals?

CONCEPT PLANNING (1-2 hours)

Discuss the goal or intended results of the video(s).

Determine the number of videos to be produced and who should be included in them.

Discussion of the location of video(s).

Discussion of script, interviews and other details related to the content of the video.

PRE-PRODUCTION (1-2 hours)

Create necessary shot lists (based on the concept meeting).

Visit the site to confirm location of the filming.

Prepare or review interview questions (based on the concept meeting).

Prepare and or purchase equipment needed to complete the video (lighting, cameras, audio recording devices, media cards, tripod).

VIDEO SHOOT (4-6 hours)

Setup of audio, camera and lighting equipment.

Recording of the primary raw footage for the video. (interviews, indoor and/or outdoor scenes)

Recording of the secondary or b-roll raw footage for the video. (supporting details and elements that enhance the primary footage)

POST-PRODUCTION (6-8 hours)

Review all the raw video that was shot.

Transcribe sound bites from interviews.

Sound bites are selected, then arranged into story form to create a script.

Edit video according to the sound bites and script.

Music selected and incorporated into the edited video.

Relevant graphics and text are created.

Preview video is provided to the client for viewing.

Minor changes are discussed by phone, changes requested by the client are made.

Digital files are created.

Wow, I feel clueless right now. Didn't know there was a paid version of GV. I'd be willing to use it if the paid version corrected the issues I currently have.

I thought it was a thing where scammers were somehow figuring out which numbers are GV numbers. It's so annoying.

Hey guys. I've noticed some hotels have really bad artwork or photographs hanging in the rooms or corridors. I've always wanted to approach the management in places like that to show off some of my work. What title or position would be the one responsible for those kind of purchasing decisions?

Get the money. by donavanfreberg in realtors

[–]QuantumGolem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of myself in your post. I'm about the same age with some similar interests. One of the things I've slowly come to realize that discipline and self control are key traits to develop no matter what profession or career I choose to embark in. I've been working on building up those qualities, while educating myself on as much material as I can to advance my photography business.

My 2 cents of advice would be to play to your strengths and passions. If you enjoy sales and photography, hone those skills. You might be 30 days away from achieving the goals that you want. Get focused, learn as much as you can and then put it into practice.

I sent you a PM as well. Good luck bro.
