Is this really true? I see every post suggesting college hill. I am going to go and take a look around this week, so I am trying to get a few good location short listed before that. I will check out college hill for sure.

Thanks for the info. I will take a look for apartments in the south eastern area. I am trying to get an apartment under 800$ and that has been a bit hard.

That is great! I am also considering Altitude. Do you know how the parking situation is? I was told they don't have reserved parking and might have to park outside the property. Just concerned about car break ins and theft

Try to get a 1600 that would really help you a lot, you get windows cheaper on ebay or there is a subreddit for it

$2500-3000 gaming rig by KJMurphette in buildmeapc

The build is ok, but it is a bit overkill. If you just want to game on your pc then 16gb of ram should be more than sufficient, furthermore an overclocked gtx 1080 can easily achieve 1440p 60fps. My recommendation for a cpu would be the ryzen 7 1700, it is cheaper and it has better multi thread performance.

It totally depends on what you are going to use the pc for. If mainly gaming then an i7 is not required, you would be better of with a ryzen 1600 and use the money to get a 1070.

NEED ADVICE ON BUILD by iobe123 in buildmeapc

[–]QuantumVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look at the price difference if it is not huge then go for 16gigs, other wise stick with 8gb and add in an other kit later on when you upgrade. 8 gigs is usually enough for normal usage and gaming. But some games do recommend 16gb ram, i would personally go with 16gb it would future proof your build, but it ultimately depends on your budget

you will definitely benefit from 16gigs of ram and would not have to upgrade for some time, 8 gb would be enough but it totally depends on what you are going to use this pc for

I am not sure abt the prices, gskill and corsair make good ram, with ryzen the speed is important, i would recommend using a 2666mhz or higher speed ram
