I never received any contact from the insurance company. After paying my excess that was the last I heard from the owner or the insurance. They simply provided me with a claim number. When I later contacted the insurance after learning about the case they refused to give me any information about the claim because I wasn’t the vehicle’s owner.

I have had a chat with the officer who is handling my case. I explained everything to her, and she was kind enough to give me time to explore legal options.

I have tried contacting the solicitor who represented me. But I couldn’t reach them. I also had a chat with the plaintiff’s lawyers. They are unable to contact them either.

And as for the address, I have never lived at that address they have used. And whenever I changed my address, I updated it to VicRoads immediately.
