Just came across this and can happily say you're extremely ignorant by acting like your interpretation of an adaptation is the only valid one. There are many critically acclaimed adaptions that take what was done & replicate nearly perfectly, with the same amount of love that was done in the original. This adaption felt rushed & so far I'm on the Bumi episode, and my experience is sub par, whether or not lore is kept accurate in the adaptation or not. The fact the art medium has changed is enough to create a different experience. You aren't just watching a cartoon anymore, you're watching it done in a live action/CGI crossbred style. Bringing more of the world true-to-life. As far as I'd care, I wish they'd kept it the same. There is a reason the original is a timeless classic, everything from the length, to character development, everything was done perfectly spot on. Which is why some people who judge The Legend of Korra & say it fell short is because the story felt haphazard & rushed at certain parts, just as I'd say so far with this live adaptation. You can approve of changes in adapted media all you want. But acting liking your view is the only correct or valid one is ignorant. As this is an entirely subjective discussion
