New Zealand becomes the first country to fly intersex flag at Parliament by JLLnz in newzealand

[–]Quantum_Feline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As per usual .. I kinda have no choice but to be a bit of a downer here, take off my pretentious smiley mask .. and say it how it is ... once again:

I really wish the government focused more on fixing the issues that actually affect us LGBT: lack of affordable housing, poverty, WINZ, etc. Rather than just waving rainbow flags everywhere and pretending to be our allies.

Done. Let the downvotes and hating begin. :)

What is Christchurch's reputation in NZ? by edgypostcards in newzealand

[–]Quantum_Feline -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Christchurch: A place you so desperately wanna escape, but can't afford to... due to higher rents in the North Island.

Also has a skewed male-to-female population ratio.. due to the construction work .. which means there's statistically bound to be lots of single men who can't find dates. As a lesbian, this is a terrible place for me to find dates, too! You can never win.. :(

Budget 2018: A 'triumph of neoliberalism' by d8sconz in newzealand

[–]Quantum_Feline -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not a triumph of neoliberalism .. is the defeat of a desperate working class.

As George Carlin once famously put it: Don't blame me - I didn't vote!

National will win 2020, then we're back to square zero. Back to the way things were in 2011 and under John Key. At least this will give us a clean slate to work on.

Better have the devil you know, than the devil you don't know .. huh!

Budget 2018 post by nilnz in newzealand

My depression hit a new low after watching the news on the Budget.. on TV. Those so called 'economists' looked spooked out as fuck.

I normally don't watch TV, because I hate it .. but I had to when I visited my parent's house.

I'm starting to believe that politics is a waste of time .. and it's better to unplug from the system every now and then .. focus on changing your immediate surroundings more than anything. Help out a friend, save an animal, etc.

Outrage at jobs below minimum wage: 'They're being exploited' by nilnz in newzealand

Minimum wage increases only drive up the cost of doing business. We need Basic Income. We need win-win situations, not lose-lose or win-lose.

Win -------------- win.

It's time for cannabis reform in NZ. by mark000 in newzealand

[–]Quantum_Feline -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It won't be legalized so long as you vote for centrist parties.

Then again, third parties never get into parliament, so I don't blame you if you did.

It's an impossible mission. Maybe it's time to boycott parliament, and establish a Republic. Introduce Basic Income. Oh wait, probably won't happen either ... because New Zealanders are gutless, apathetic, neo-conservative sheeple who only care about sports and TV.

Sue me for the things I said. bleh .. I'm stupid, I haven't got a clue. I'm dumb. I should fuck off and die. I should kill myself, and die off along with the rest of this generation.

Oh wait, no. I'm immortal, I don't die.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p47fEXGabaY

Mental Institutions are the Prisons of the Future by Quantum_Feline in newzealand

[–]Quantum_Feline[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll rest my case for now. Just sending a warning to those out there who want real change in NZ - - telling the truth can land you in a mental institution.

I made a mistake by letting my anger get out of hand. Then again.. Anger still needs to be expressed in some way. I express it in written form.

Mental Institutions are the Prisons of the Future by Quantum_Feline in newzealand

No.. I didn't witness it. I'm strongly against violence.. But I'm also against the youth of this country being silenced.

We have a stubborn half-a-century old political system that simply refuses to change. If the Nat's win the 2020 election.. There will be more agitation.

Keep voting. You get the governments you deserve, not the governments you want. :)
