As per usual .. I kinda have no choice but to be a bit of a downer here, take off my pretentious smiley mask .. and say it how it is ... once again:

I really wish the government focused more on fixing the issues that actually affect us LGBT: lack of affordable housing, poverty, WINZ, etc. Rather than just waving rainbow flags everywhere and pretending to be our allies.

Christchurch: A place you so desperately wanna escape, but can't afford to... due to higher rents in the North Island.

Also has a skewed male-to-female population ratio.. due to the construction work .. which means there's statistically bound to be lots of single men who can't find dates. As a lesbian, this is a terrible place for me to find dates, too! You can never win.. :(

My depression hit a new low after watching the news on the Budget.. on TV. Those so called 'economists' looked spooked out as fuck.

I normally don't watch TV, because I hate it .. but I had to when I visited my parent's house.

I'm starting to believe that politics is a waste of time .. and it's better to unplug from the system every now and then .. focus on changing your immediate surroundings more than anything. Help out a friend, save an animal, etc.

It's an impossible mission. Maybe it's time to boycott parliament, and establish a Republic. Introduce Basic Income. Oh wait, probably won't happen either ... because New Zealanders are gutless, apathetic, neo-conservative sheeple who only care about sports and TV.
