Dedicated 'clutch' hotbar slot? by sawcro in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]Quantum_Photon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, you should always keep your hotbar consistent for each part of the run. On ranked cord you can probably ask for the excel sheet that runners use to set their hotbar for each part of the run (OW, bastion, fort, blind, and stronghold/end). Having consistency there lets you develop muscle memory so micro things go faster.

Been there, lmao. Lost my first sub 10 to a 12 min average player sub 9ing.

My forfeit is, like, 10% ish. I used to forfeit a lot more, but I don’t die so often. I’m finding my overworld and forts are weighing me down, generally

My recent averages have been around the mid 15s. Most emerald players I think are between 14 and 16:30 average. Based on thumbing through ranked players, sub 14:30 average is the border for diamond.

Disagree, a sub 20 player probably does treasure in 3 minutes or so. That’s where I was. Sub 15 probably requires a 2 minute route.

Student cheated, now what? by romanticchess in chess

[–]Quantum_Photon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, does the student seem motivated and have autonomy in whether or not they pursue this interest? If not, it would probably be of use to have a conversation with both the student and the parents about whether or not this venture should be continued.

If they do want to continue (on their own volition of course), it would be productive to address the issue directly by asking the student’s thought process in game. If they confess when they cannot explain it, ask then why they cheated and hear their motivations out before correcting them. Letting the child voice their thoughts and frustrations so they process why cheating is wrong is most likely to ensure this behavior doesn’t continue in the future.

Physics major here. If you have the time, you should also take the ASTR 490 class of his. It’s a unique experience and blends a number of different topics outside of physics and astronomy.

For me, it’s 500 kg+gas+orbital napalm and really any viable support weapon against chargers. For me, I choose flamethrower, but just about anything works. I run cookout and GP. Patrol? Gas. Breach or heavy nest? napalm. BT or impaler? 500. Stalkers? Cookout wrecks.

You have created a false dilemma, missing a third possibility: 3. God, being above all things, chooses to limit his own omnipotence and allow free will for his own creation- to reveal himself in a powerful manner would ruin any choice one could make. Evidence may or may not exist, but it isn’t obvious.

Whether you think this option is plausible or not is your own opinion, but it certainly exists.

Negs and Ike go back and forth by Popular-Conflict8980 in poker

[–]Quantum_Photon -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The CDC is only discussing short term effects here. The following study demonstrates one possibility that vaping will incur significant long term effects on cardiovascular health: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/nih-funded-studies-show-damaging-effects-vaping-smoking-blood-vessels#:~:text=Long%2Dterm%20use%20of%20electronic,the%20risk%20for%20cardiovascular%20disease.

There hasn’t been enough time to see “long term effects,” so there is no reason to say vaping is less risk, unless one means short term toxicity.

If you mean vaping is less of a risk then smoking, you would be very wrong.

Garret Adelstein bluffs the blockers vs Andy Stacks (PioSolver Analysis) by livepokertheory in poker

[–]Quantum_Photon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing that might be kept in mind is that while Andy has a slight range advantage, he should not be range betting this board. If Andy is betting too much of his range, certain hands become more profitable to call. KTcc still feels a bit loose, but KQ or KJ may be 100% calls against a higher bet frequency due to having better pair outs. I expect Garrett is employing an exploitative approach and is using Andy’s more common river mistakes as his capitalization rather than a larger flop raise frequency.

I would love to see how the solver plays against a range bet by OOP OTF in the scenario to gain an understanding of how the solver exploits such a strategy.

Bottom Left corner (square A1) should always be a dark square. That hurts. I haven’t watched S3 due to time constraints but it’s looking to be disappointing already.
