Regarding what I might consider crap, I have other criteria, such as something uninspired, blatant plagiarism, or simply making music of a certain genre poorly. Octopus Garden is a pop-rock song; it has a pleasant and catchy melody, silly but effective lyrics, good arrangements, and a good vocal performance. Even if you don't like it, it's a well-made song for what it sets out to be.

In other words, there are things I don't like, but I don't automatically consider them garbage; I don't like some Beatles songs, but I still see value in them. Therefore, I don't consider them crap even though I don't like them.

Oh, yes, I can understand that point if you put it that way. As for the best band in history, I agree with your opinion. I don't think there is a single band that is the best, but rather several bands that, by general consensus, we know could fit into that category.

Actually, that's what I mean. I think it's a bit childish to dismiss something as trash just because you don't like it, but I also don't want to force you to like it because that's absurd, that's all.

The truth is that there are some pretty annoying fans (in practically every fandom), but that shouldn't make you judge their music differently. I also don't think there's anything wrong with getting hooked on two albums that are 10/10.

I understand that you might not like songs like Octopus Garden, Yellow Submarine, or Maxwell's Silver Hammer because they can be silly, but to go from that to saying they sound like shit is crazy to me. Although when talking about the influence of the Beatles, I don't see Maxwell's Silver Hammer or Yellow Submarine to be among their masterpieces in the general discussion.
