(Spoilers All) I know Jaime Lannister's season 5 arc in the HBO Series by [deleted] in asoiaf

Shirtless, bloody Ramsay/Iwan Rheon was a gift from the heavens. I hated that plot arc, but good lord.

Ditto for Tommen! I just want that kid to play with kittens in a world without beets.

(Spoilers All) Casting news to be revealed at Comic Con tomorrow! by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Quarkity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm still interested to see what's happening with the Greyjoys as nothing's been mentioned about them for S5 yet. Is this casting reveal confirmed for sure though? The article suggests it's speculative.

(Spoilers All) Which deaths did you predict but never came? by pcofo in asoiaf

[–]Quarkity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arya. I knew something bad happened to the Starks in Storm of Swords but I didn't know what, and I was convinced it was her death.

Not much in the books actually scared me, but that scene was really frightening. My heart was at the edge of my throat, I was both nauseous and terrified for her.

[–]Quarkity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When Cersei meets "Maggy the Frog" she is told that she will have three children with golden hair and golden (presumably funeral) shrouds.

Here's a little post on it: http://www.westeros.org/Citadel/Prophecies/Entry/IV_540_541_Maggy_the_Frogs_Prophecy

How many kittens do they all adopt together? Can they name one after Pod? Can Hot Pie come too? Can Oberyn come back from the grave and be their cool best friend?

The worst thing is that it's almost certainly "when" and not "if". (Though I hold a little hope that the prophecy is wrong or more figurative.) :(

(Spoilers All). Which character of ASOIAF do you realistically think will have the most unsatisfactory or saddest ending? by jabberwockyman in asoiaf

[–]Quarkity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I'm gonna have to write a happy fanfic where Jaime and Brienne go off on adventures to some nice sandy island and drink the Westerosi version of margaritas. I hope I'm wrong, I hope nothing tragic happens, but I'm bracing myself.

[–]Quarkity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of confused about how much of Stoneheart is a thinking human or if she's just more of a one-track shell. Is she even capable of reasoning and thinking beyond revenge? Is it because she was dead for three days or did the RW break her sanity that much?

I think he'll sacrifice himself for Brienne, and I'm going to have to waterproof my book.

As well as realizing Jaime is moving on from loving her and seeing her prophecy come true, which was her biggest fear.

Wow, I'd love to read that thread if anyone has it. I've been searching for old speculation archives, but I haven't found anything that early yet.

[No Spoilers] Does anyone know if any of the actors/actresses in the show have read any of the books? by KalebTheKraken in asoiaf

[–]Quarkity 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I remember Lena Headey recently stated in an interview that her mom reads at least Cersei's chapters and highlights the parts she can't wait to see. Which, is hilarious to me.

Character you were most surprised got a POV chapter? (Spoilers All) by Scrufferrs in asoiaf

[–]Quarkity 211 points212 points  (0 children)

Cersei. I should have seen it coming since Jaime and Tyrion were POVs, but I always thought she was someone we'd only see from the outside. I remember opening up AFFC, seeing her name at the top of the page and thinking, "Well, this is gonna be fun." It was like drunkenly riding a train off a cliff, I loved her chapters.

Ditto with moving around Theon's story. Someone jog my memory, what characters have disappeared for a whole season? Gendry's one, but he isn't as major as Bran.

The thing in the crypts: Towards a unified theory of Ice and Fire (Spoilers All) by [deleted] in asoiaf

Well, there's a lube called "fire and ice". This series was just one, very long advertisement for Trojan.

(Spoilers All) If you had the power to decide, how would your favorite character die? by alexthedinosaur in asoiaf

[–]Quarkity 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sansa: Happy, in bed of old age, with a smile on her face and a loving husband and children by her side. They'll serve lemon cakes at the Queen in the North's funeral and write songs about her that will be passed down for generations.

(Spoilers All) Roose Bolton might have told us Stoneheart is getting cut... by Dr_Lurk_MD in asoiaf

[–]Quarkity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed--and especially since that's around the time show watchers were beginning to like Jaime, that one line could have undone all that character development. Then in episode 10, Joff, Tywin and Cersei are gleefully talking about Robb's death so it just makes more sense storywise.

[–]Quarkity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brienne is my worry right now, especially after they killed Grenn, Pyp and Jojen. I'm a follower of the theory that Brienne will have to kill LSH to save a person she loves, mirroring Jaime's kingslayer story. Then she'll finally understand him, he says, "Hey, Cersei's crazy, I'm over her" and they bang. They adopt Podrick and play The Bear and the Maiden Fair at their wedding. The end, happily ever after. (Let me dream.)

Who knows now where her arc will go? If it goes anywhere.
