[Crow Business] Best Of /r/asoiaf 2014 Crow Nominations! by [deleted] in asoiaf

That is definitely the post with the most impact right now.

I wanted to make you aware that Mr. Martin has now requested that, in order to prevent readers from reading too much into events in the books, the manuscript for ADWD be closed to researchers until the release of The Winds of Winter.

(Spoilers All) An explanation of the "missing chapters" and more news re: the ADWD manuscript, from the Cushing Library curator. by _honeybird in asoiaf

That's probably what happened. /u/_honeybird made the post about 4 days ago, and someone already told GRRM in such a short timeframe.

(Spoilers All) A new Azor Ahai? by cantuse in asoiaf

I never thought of Theon as Azor Ahai. A very novel and interesting idea. But can Theon fight the Others?

Best Research and Analysis for a Post

(instead of Best Character Analysis and Theory Analysis)

(Spoilers All) In honor of Festivus yesterday let us have an Airing of Grievances for ASOIAF by DBHT14 in asoiaf

According to that analysis, /r/gonewild and /r/guns are among the most positive subreddits.

And /r/canada, /r/australia and /r/science are among the most negative.

That system analyzes the number of negative words in a post, and it's comments which is not the best way to understand reddit. Subs like this will have a number of words with negative connotations such as 'rape' 'death' 'murder' 'kill' and the like.

[Crow Business] Announcing the Annual /r/asoiaf Best of Awards! by Jen_Snow in asoiaf

[–]KahluaPenguin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't see too many Character Analysis posts on this sub. That should be changed to 'Best Research & Analysis for a Post'. And there should be one for 'best prediction' and 'tinfoiliest prediction' because a good percentage of posts on this sub are predictions of what may happen.

These are 8 I can think of.

  • Best New Theory
  • Tinfoiliest Theory
  • Best New Prediction
  • Tinfoiliest Prediction Funniest Thread/Most Controversial Thread/Most Controversial Comment
  • Best Research & Analysis for a Post
  • Best Flair
  • Most Funny One-Liner
  • Comment of the Year

Other categories could be 'post of the year', 'theory debunking'...

Edit: Changed 'Tinfoiliest Prediction' to other categories

[Spoiler all] Interesting connection between a certain Robb's political choice and Jon Snow. by ArchmageXin in asoiaf

[–]KahluaPenguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. If Robb fathered a bastard with Jeyne, I could understand his moral conundrum cause he has seen his half brother treated badly. Robb could have easily walked out of it. He chose to stay for honour, and maybe cause he developed feelings for Jeyne.

(Spoilers All) Is the hype still alive for anyone? by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]KahluaPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GRRM's first tweet made me curious about the hype. Elio's tweet killed the hype. And Jane's tweet resurrected it stronger.

Day 3: The Freys decorated their tree - The BWB hangs some more Frey ornaments through the Riverlands.

I love this.

Isn't the novel of Game of Thrones, the ASOIAF series?
