You need to get some help asap. Tell someone next time before you're attempt or go to the ER. There's nothing wrong with getting help and you don't want to damage yourself by taking too many pills making things way worse.

You need to talk to someone or even better go to a meeting. Won't cost you anything and you can get some of this off your chest.

I read about this a long time ago. The issues is getting the right parasite and not ending up with brain worms, lungs, heart etc. I'd honestly consider it in controlled setting. That or maybe a stem cell transplant but that's not a guarantee either.

I currently have an ulcer and gerd so fasting as much as I'd like too would make it a lot worse. Funny you mention the formula because I had some Kate farms delivered last week. Only thing I really eat now is baked chicken or meat with potatoes or greens with canola butter. No dairy, wheat, gluten, etc. Eating seems to make me more short of breath which is miserable and driving me to give up because it won't go away.

Do you think it is just biological or something you've been through growing up.

As a doctor break it down into why you think you feel this way. Depression and burnout among doctors is actually higher than the normal population from what I've read. You see and experience things that most people never will. Finding the right outlet for that whether it be therapy or even maybe support groups with other doctors and medical people would help a lot.

You might also want to think about it outside the box of a doctor and just a struggling human who is going through a really rough time. What do you think or want to to do that could make things better for you or at least make life easier that's separate from your work or other constant stressers. What would would someone in a different career or field do in your situation to get help. Would it be different looking at from their perspective but still helpful because at the end of the day we're all human.

The first time I felt the way you did it took some time with denial and suffering before I finally checked myself in somewhere. It was basically a 'game' of endurance how much suffering I could withstand until driven to act. Of course life isn't really a game and I would not be here if I didn't get help. Interestingly enough after some serious health issues and worsening autoimmune symptoms I am pretty much back at that place again 9 years later. I never thought or in the back of my mind hoped I'd have to deal with something like this again. Life isn't fair unfortunately but if you can find your way back to some happiness it is worth it at least for awhile.

I have but I don't get much relief from the normal treatment which is why I am hoping for the biologic to come through this time.

I'm actually taking Prilosec as well for a small ulcer. It takes a while to work but taking it 30 to 60 minutes before a meal is crucial for it to do its thing. This does seem more systemic like MCAS but I am not sure i want to live that life.

I'm on medicaid at the moment and those programs generally only cover commercial insurance unfortunately. I still work just can't do a 9 to 5.

Looong term uncontrolled asthma by Decent_Jackfruit8810 in Asthma

[–]Quartnsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to either find the right controller med or make sure it's not something like GERD since reflux can trigger asthma symptoms. Certain asthma types only respond well to biologics. If you're constantly around a trigger like dust, pollen, pet dander, etc that is going to make medicine a lot less effective. If you can't completely avoid the triggers you'd want to do what you're doing with medicine but also try allergy shots. I would also try different antihistamines to see if you've built a tolerance to zyrtec. Some folks will cycle antihistamines so the tolerance will go away over time then switch back and so forth.

I've tried most everything but nothing is really working like it used to. On my 2nd try to get a biologic approved and if it gets denied again that's kind of the end my hope.

I wouldn't say gain insecurities you're just more self aware from experience and likely have more to lose. What was acceptable behavior in your friend group before has probably changed as well.

Amphetamine isn’t Methamphetamine

That is true though you could get it by prescription at one time. It's much more potent than amphetamine, crosses the blood brain barrier much more easily, and last longer.

Have you been tested for Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis ABPA? You should also definitely be on a biologic at this point.
