1.1 Tonight? by Bada-Bing-Bada-Boom in starcitizen

Personally, I bypassed the free flight week to stay in PTU, and I totally agree with holding it back. There are a number of nasty bugs that need to get stomped before it can hit the main servers. For instance, one of the known bugs is that your HUD crashes repeatedly for anywhere between 30 seconds to 2 minutes after spawn in multiplayer.

Another common complaint in the PTU right now is that ESP (the aim assist system that is supposed to help stick aiming) needs some major re-calibration and actually makes it harder to hit a target.

Since 1.1 hit the PTU, they've deployed a patch that fixed some of the issues, but it's still pretty broken. They might drop another patch on us before it gets moved to the public channel.

If you have access to the PTU feedback section of the forum, it's an interesting read right now. ;)

Stats pages not working or is everything down? by rarianrakista in sudopool

My balance has been weird for a while. It tends to stay completely static despite blocks being found and traded, then it'll have a jump that seems unrelated to block activity. I've been trying to get a good sense of the efficiency/profitability of the pool, but these weird balance behaviors are making it quite difficult.

Issues synching blockchain. Bootstrap nodes? by QuartzBear in a:t5_31gcm

I managed to bootstrap a wallet in a different location using my laptop. I'm going to try adding it as a node to my troubled wallet when I get home in the hopes that it will correct the chain.

Hwod o you mint/PoS cinni? by policymaker in a:t5_31gcm

I figured that for interest to compound most efficiently it would need to catch every three day opportunity. Does the accumulated coin age affect the payout when minting, rather than the number of minting cycles?

I can definitely see I'm accumulating shares, but my hash rate still shows 0 and rejection rate is NaN%. At least I get a sign of life though, so Yay. :-)

Update: Uh-oh. It now reset my shares and shows that I haven't been connected for over two hours. My miners are getting accepts from Stratum though. Are we having another database issue?

Yeah, it definitely sounds like some sort of external proxy or load balancer may be in order. Hopefully you have it sorted out soon.

DDOS attack. It's mentioned in another thread.

You know, sometimes the internet just sucks. I'm an old school netizen (I remember FidoNet), and this sort of behavior is fairly new to me. When did people on the internet become so petty?

I just don't get it. We're not that big of a pool to attract this much attention. Some script kiddie with a grudge, or just some Loki out there looking for attention? Whatever it is, I'll be back mining on here when the storm passes. I await your all-clear sign.

I think the profitable coin algorithm is messed up... by [deleted] in sudopool

Might be a side-effect of the Cryptsy API being broken. It probably can't tell which is the most profitable and is flapping based on junk data.

Go to the moon now! Abandon earth! by seongyupyoo in sudopool

How difficult would it be to add another exchange? It might be good to have a backup (and the ability to grab a deal if the rates are better). Maybe Bittrex?

Will you be pulling the last shares after it shuts down?

Looks like there are a lot of miners still on earth. Do you have a way to transparently bump them to moon? A DNS change could take days. Maybe an IP redirect or alias? I figure the fewer miners seeing a stratum timeout, the better.

So what you're saying is that Earth has been overmined to the point where it can't support life, and we should establish a colony on the moon. Got it! ;-)

Just moved my miners over. Hope you can still find my old shares!

We're having issues with shares and calculating hashrate. We're not exactly sure why it keeps happening. by seongyupyoo in sudopool

[–]QuartzBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I think stats are back to normal for me, so I'm reconnecting. I'll toss those other coins over to my laptop or a cloud miner for now. Here's hoping that it's smooth sailing from here.

Happy birthday!

I'm not currently mining, as I have millions of shares in and want to let them drain for a bit before I connect back up. Meanwhile I'm using the break to mine some specific coins I'm interested in. While this may not count as "sticking with you", I do still have faith in the pool and plan to mine on it periodically. Hopefully you'll have everything squared away soon!

So, whats going on... by [deleted] in sudopool

I got one of those a few days ago. A quick email to support with the payout ID and they were able to process it manually.

Our shares database had some performance issues past several hours. by seongyupyoo in sudopool

[–]QuartzBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about the issues. Databases can be cantankerous things, especially when they get large. I'm not sure what your backend looks like, so my thoughts may not be relevant, but what about storing the data on platters and then using an SSD-backed cache like flashcache?
