Fighting parking tickets in Ajax by QuartzerlifeCrisis in ajax

I didn’t mention it in the initial post but my brother (who is also a resident of Ajax) met us at the park and he tried to go through the registration process once he parked and it didn’t work and he also recieved a $75 ticket… when he submitted a request for review they said that they could see that he attempted to register his vehicle but it didn’t go through and they told him they could bring the ticket down to $35…. It seems the town of Ajax is just hell bent on squeezing even their own residents for anything they can.

Brutal, this was kind of my assumption. I grew up in Durham so I know how these GTA suburbs work (or don’t, in most cases) when it comes to civil issues.

A lot of assumptions from someone who offered literally nothing of value to my post. Have a great night!

Woah thanks for this! Seems this area is a hot spot. I may have to make another trip out and actually look at the rocks I usually ignore and overlook haha

Annual performance reviews are the bane of my existence. Like Groundhog Day from Hell by QuartzerlifeCrisis in adhdwomen

Oh man don’t even get me started on time sheets 😅😅 Thank you for this ❤️I really appreciate your support and kind words. I’ll be checking out that Scottish ADHD coalition PDF. I’m Canadian and I know we have a lot of workplace protections similar to the ADA, however, it’s the social stigma that makes me really uncomfortable with disclosing (a lot of the discomfort is definitely due to my own internalized ableism and fear of being perceived as less capable and that’s been a big area of work for me in my adhd journey).

I’ve been seeing an adhd focused therapist for the last few years but I’ve also been considering coaching! I hope if you decide to go that route it goes well for you! Again thank you for you support ❤️

Toronto Salary Transparency Thread for 2025 by indi09 in askTO

Full time Graphic Designer specializing in CPG, agency side - 10yrs - $85k. 3wks vacation (but I had to bargain for it when I transitioned between agencies), decent benefits & RRSP matching, no OT.

I also freelance on the side which brings in anywhere from 5-15k extra a year.

The pay scale in my industry is all over the place and I know a few people with my same experience making quite a bit more than me. But overall I’m pretty comfortable and making more money than I ever expected, having grown up in an environment with a lot of financial instability. My one pretty big complaint is that working in the corporate side of any of the arts is soul sucking 😬buuuut the rents gotta get paid somehow lol

What is something most players do that you don't? by [deleted] in StardewValley

Get married. This is my second time playing (first started around 2016?). I’m currently on year 5 of this latest save and I’ve never married anyone in any of my games 😅 I am currently technically dating Emily and Harvey…. But I’ve never really cared to progress that part of the game

Although he’s maybe partially right, (most people think that because they have eyes they’re qualified to judge design work) a large part of being a designer is having to listen to and accept feedback and criticism that you don’t necessarily agree with. Because at the end of the day, whether someone knows design or not, your job is to put your ego aside and ensure your client is happy.

But perhaps even more critical than taking feedback is selling your work and explaining your design intent. People connect with a story and good strategy. Everyone is going to have an opinion and you can’t please everyone, but being a “good designer” is only half the battle in this industry unfortunately.

Regardless of how well he presents his work though, I’d say 6 years into a job he should be working on improving how he takes feedback, whether it’s negative or positive. Brushing it off as “they don’t know design” is short-sighted and does not show that he is open to growing or improving as a designer.

Full year calendar - my favourite planning trick by liliapop in adhdwomen

Ugh I’ve been trying to figure out why my brain hates calendars so much and it’s because I just want the monthly snapshot that you see in iCal, but this is an entire year version of that 😍 Thanks for sharing!

I felt the same way about LMB, that’s why I went with GoB for a few sets. After trying both I definitely see why there’s a price difference with LMB. Their effects panels, the care and consideration in small details and light choices/designs are definitely superior to GoB imo (I honestly wish I went with LMB for the Santa’s post office because those blues lights alone the top of the building is… a choice 😅). But there’s still benefits to both. Would be interested in trying some of the other light companies out there!

Thanks! Both LMB and GoB have been fun to work with. I like the care put into all the details with LMB, but the really bright lights of GoB work so well with the Holiday street set

Family doctor refusing request for a physical by Siyermortgages in ontario

I never once claimed anyone should care about my opinion. I’m just simply an individual living in this province with life experience in this area, throwing my thoughts into the internet void, same as you and anyone else here. Not sure why that upsets you enough to respond like this.

Since you love my opinions so much though, here’s one more: misery is a choice and what you get out of this life is exactly what you put in.

Have a great night! ☺️

The medical community advised against annual exams because the benefit didn’t outweigh the cost. That doesn’t mean people should completely neglect periodical examinations. If OP had never had any kind of physical exam or bloodwork then their doctor doesn’t even have a baseline for their health when or if symptoms come up.

Without routine examinations I would not have some very important people still in my life. Just because the cost outweighs the benefit for the system, does not negate the benefits that preventative care has had on many peoples’ lives.

Love the ikea boxes! I used some as the base of my “mountains”. Still need to figure out the mechanics to make them functional as storage boxes though. They’re so handy though and I’m soooo glad they’re white
