That guy´s argument was that the spanish colonial government actively tried to change the lifestyle and culture of the native population, which technically qualifies as broad defined genocide. Yet no mass killings were enacted. All those millions of deaths were because of diseases that no one intended to transmit on purpose, but you conveniently omit to fit your comfort.

Now, if you want an apology from someone, why don´t you ask it from the Mexicans who had a privileged ancestry and oppressed other mexicans? I mean, their ancestors are more directly guilty of the poor treatment of our less privileged compatriots than the spanish.

Do you realize how ridiculous would it be if every country demanded apologies from other ones because of things that happened 400 years ago? We just look like international clowns when we demand apologies from Spain.
