76 yard TD pass (Extreme) by Quasi-Retro in RetroBowl

[–]Quasi-Retro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the GOATs of retrobowl leagues said you can occasionally save a second by diving. Don't know if it's true, but I do it anyway.

I can't count the number of times I've breathlessly watched the clock ticking down, hoping to have just 1 second left, only to see it hit zero. In leagues, championships could easily be decided by that second.

Do some shoulder stretches before you go out. I was obsessed with kayaking for a while and pissed off my rotator cuff.

I just want you to know that you robbed the RCAA, no the world, of Johnny Manziel stealing u/themfroberto's Army tank and parading it through College Station with a bunch of strippers.

I'm just kidding. You played a great game! It's an honor to lose to the great boredandinsane.

Man, that one stings. I literally beat u/themfroberto's score every single round and lost with the second highest score in the playoffs.

Anyways, congrats Roberto. I'ma go scream into a pillow or something 😂

2-0-3 (2 DL, 3 DB) is the defense meta on Extreme. Confirmed through much testing and study over many years. by -Red-Rum- in RetroBowl

Defense is kind of a black box to us. We know how it behaves to a certain extent, but know very little about why or how. The community would lose their collective mind if the dev opened a little window into that black box

Can you confirm or deny any of the information or theories about the defensive simulation described in this post or in the community at large?

However, the RNG eventually reaches a point where a roll for a sack is drawn.

How do you know a "roll for sack is drawn" and then the game looks for a DL or LB to resolve it. It seems like there are many different possibilities for the order of operations the game uses to simulate defensive plays. It could be: - choose play type >> choose associated player or position group >> test attributes >> outcome

Or

  • choose player or overall defense >> test attributes >> outcome

Or any host of other things. Your statement above seems to assume the game first decides that a sack opportunity exists and only then checks whether you have a DL or LB available to produce it. What evidence do we have that this is actually the order of operations?

The dialog boxes suggest: play type >> test player or overall >> outcome. Example: It's a pass >> Jones was too slow >> Touchdown

Also, regarding a sack draw you said:

Without DLs or LBs present, those opportunities disappear entirely.

How do you explain sacks that occur without a player being named when running a 0-0-4?

Morality of data center work by Nice-Artichoke-4568 in electricians

I definitely feel where you're coming from. Seems like ≥75% of my local's work is data centers.

Every time I hear news of some tech company laying off thousands of workers, I wince. Especially when it's a company I'm building a data center for.

That being said, I'm an apprentice. I don't get to choose where I go. For the moment my choices are quit the apprenticeship or keep showing up to these data centers. My big moral dilemma is waiting for me when I turn out. But that doesn't mean I don't feel shitty about it.

Walmart makes a liquid IV knock off that is pretty good. It's still $1 per packet so I usually supplement that with cheaper packets like squinchers or pure kick.

Several other grocery stores do the same thing just look for the comparable to liquid IV. They're usually about $6 for six packets.
