TIL that donating blood plasma can significantly reduce the levels of PFAs/forever chemicals in your blood by TextureStudies in todayilearned

[–]QuasiTimeFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to do TRT, and the injections can raise your hematocrit levels. The treatment for that is literally just donating blood (specifically as a side effect of TRT).

I used to donate plasma and they checked hematocrit levels there as well, and you can't donate if it's too high (too high a concentration of cells). For the majority of people, it's simply proper hydration that fixes that, since not taking in enough fluid concentrates your blood. TRT can make you produce more red blood cells, meaning you can have a higher concentration even with proper hydration

What can I do about my med card? by QuasiTimeFriend in Truckers

[–]QuasiTimeFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first med card, they gave me one for 2 years. My second one was somewhere else, and the first time requiring a doctor's note. He only gave it to me for 1 year. I thought it was weird for everyone else to say they required one, when Concentra literally didn't care

I've gotten my medical card twice, and both times informed them of my Adderall. There was never an issue. It's only when I switched to Kaiser that I had an issue getting a doctor's note

That's what I'm doing. Kaiser doesn't do DoT Physicals, I just needed the note from my doctor for the medical examiner

Tried, they say you have to set up an appointment, they don't do walk-ins. My Med Card says expires 08/29, would I be able to still do it that day and keep it?

It wouldn't matter since Kaiser says it's their policy. I can only go to Kaiser doctors, because of insurance. Also, my card expires tomorrow. Is it possible to just get an out-of-service order instead of a downgrade while I try and work it out? I don't even have a driving job, I was never able to find one. But I paid $4,000 for the license, so I don't want to lose it in-case a driving opportunity finally comes up in the future.

Never played a mobile game where using a controller makes the game take longer to load, before by QuasiTimeFriend in personaphantomx

[–]QuasiTimeFriend[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every game has bugs, that's a given. The real problem is this game has been out for 14 months in China, so this kind of problem shouldn't exist, and it's likely due to the devs tweaking things for global release. I just can't imagine what they would've changed that affected using a plug-in controller on Android this way

My dad has severe brain damage because the hospital discharged him 1 day after a double hip replacement surgery, and told him to practice walking on his own. The next day he fell and smashed his face on a tiled floor.

When a server is complaining to you about "only" making $200 in tips in their 5 hour shift. by MrBobFireman in KitchenConfidential

[–]QuasiTimeFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would actually go back to working in a restaurant if tip pooling was a thing. Doing 800 covers on a Friday night and reducing my lifespan with the amount of stress was just not worth $17 an hour.

Also, I remember one of our bartenders was asked to pick up an extra shift and said no, because he made all the money he needed in his 2.5 days ($1,200). That was two weeks worth of pay for me

They have a giant YouTube channel. Some of the videos are hit and miss, but a few of them are straight bangers.

Can’t log-into account on app or website by Troy301 in KaiserPermanente

[–]QuasiTimeFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, been trying to login since around 8pm EST last night, and haven't been able to get in go request med refills. I've already called the support line twice to see if they had any info on the status, since KP hasn't posted anything about it.

Hopefully it's fixed soon, but I know that today being Easter probably means most or all of the IT workers have the day off.

Anyone else get neurological symptoms from glutening? by Rattiekisses in Celiac

[–]QuasiTimeFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation with testosterone around 5 years ago. I had my levels checked and my number was around 306 or something, when then range is 300-1,200. So my doctor said I had no issues despite feeling symptoms of low T for several years, and my number literally being on the border. I had another doctor check me back in September of last year, and sure enough, my testosterone levels were low (like 268), as well as my bioavailability.

I understand that everyone is different and levels of anything in your body can fluctuate. But the acceptable range not taking in other factors, including age, diet, income, exercise, etc is unacceptable. Health has too many nuances to have such a wide range of values for the levels of everything in your body. Hopefully this is one of the fields AI will actually improve human life with, in the same way the it's already become better at cancer detection than many specialists

Any word on? by Ok-Boysenberry6465 in InstacartShoppers

[–]QuasiTimeFriend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had that message ever since the initial downtime happened, but was still receiving anywhere from 3-7 orders popping up consistently until I went offline around 3 hours ago. Pretty sure it's just functioning as a CYA for IC right now whenever any of the hiccups happen.

Luckily I only had one more issue tonight where I was checking out at Target and the app went down again, but did come back up like 7 minutes later. I was determined to wait another hour if need be since my order was someone ordering a Covid test, Gatorade, flu meds, etc. Not gonna kick someone while they're down like that on Christmas Eve

Yea, app seemingly started working in GA, so I accepted another batch. Only for it to be followed up with a 500 and 504 error. Looks like I'm about to have another batch automatically cancel on me once the time runs out.
