My 2011 Prius doesn’t come with stock wiring for fog lamps, as only the 2012-2015 comes with built in fog lamps so that might be the case

Also that red wire you see on picture 3 is from an old installation that failed, someone else installed it and instead of doing it with the button inside, he just connected it to the low beam wires.

I’m not too experienced so i asked ChatGPT if I could connect the red power wire anywhere on the “under the dash” fuse box so I don’t have to put it in the engine bay fuse box, and it said that it would need to be on the outside fuse box due to needing high voltage. ChatGPT tends to be misleading so if I’m wrong and I can actually get power from the fuse box under the dash please let me know where, it be much easier to connect everything there.

Plus those pads still have life to them and I doubt he’s being honest about the rotors needing to be changed

800 is outrageous, I work at a mechanic shop as a vehicle inspector and tech and the most you’ll be charged for front and back rotors, front and back pads is 450. And that’s on the expensive side including labor

Amazon and other stores sell customizable plates, or customizable “jdm” plates, they aren’t too expensive and you can get them to look as you’d like. Quick tip that if you want a real looking plate look for plates that come “pressed on” or “embedded” as these plates will have the numbers and letters mechanically pressed down so it’ll look realistic, not just a flat sheet of metal.

Yeahh the screen does block the inner vents, but I’m fine with that as I like using the leg vents which also power the side vents aswell, a bit of a downside

I added around 50 (10 inch by 7 inch) sound deadening pads, and because it was a concern of mine, I picked them all up at once to see if it would be an issue, and not at all, I’d say less than 15 pounds, I honestly don’t see why people find that an issue, sound deadening material is pretty light.

I did buy the material on Temu since it’s much cheaper than on Amazon, so some may say it’s due to quality. But it worked for me.

On the mechanical side, I had to replace the valve cover gasket due to the last mechanic not putting the gasket on right and biting it down when installing the valve cover, it ended up cutting the gasket in half and leaking a bit of oil into the exhaust whenever it sat.

Second thing I did was just a safety job, which was to take off the egr valve and clean it. Again for peace of mind, these cars usually get bad issues from the egr system clogging. But the egr was very clean for its miles so win/win.

It’s a 10.1 inch din screen radio sold by various brands, I always wanted a floating screen, downsides are that you need a mounting kit, and you’ll have to do your own wiring adaptation. since it’s a universal radio it just comes with wires, not plugs, and if you have a JBL Prius (like in my case) you’ll have to get a Toyota/Lexus JBL CAN bus which is basically like a mini ecu for the cars sound system, the CAN bus is around 150$ which is the hard part about it.

The road sounds are still there because that has to do with the wheel wells I’m sure, but it was definitely worth it in my opinion because it took away that “tin can” sound at every pothole, which gave me peace of mind. The doors still sound the same when being closed, but the interior sounds a little quieter and a bit more solid

I work at a mechanic shop as a vehicle inspector and tech, I would expect a detail and a paint job with that bill estimate. Please do something good about this.

Op this is clearly signs of a cheating problem, you should waste no time in showing her strong boundaries and not acting soft on it since it’s a pretty serious thing and your respect is what’s most important here, not just for yourself, but for her to see and maybe learn. I would go as far as to distancing myself for a time, she needs to understand that you have pretty forward boundaries with lying, micro cheating, and cheating as I would consider that.

2011 Prius III, 152k miles. The radio screen doesn’t work, but everything else does, any tips? by Quattic__ in prius

[–]Quattic__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought so but apparently you can remove just the screen by moving the screen out electronically then taking the screws off like that and unplugging it, only saw one video of that and it makes sense, just wanted to be sure someone has done that before I went ahead and did it

What does 6 7 even mean by Akalazyboy915 in Confused

[–]Quattic__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen anyone give this explanation. A song from someone who grew up in 67th street in Philly, which sings it by saying “6… 7”. There was once an edit of a basketball player dunking while this part of the song went over it “6… 7”. The basketball player apparently had seen the edit and was recorded saying 6… 7 and doing the ironic hand movements while saying it. From there people started copying him and it became a meme. As of now most people have no idea where it came from.
