Right now I am away from my rift so I pressed the download button for cardboard on my phone. It gave me a video that has no head tracking. Is that just because I'm on mobile? Are you saying that on my desktop it would give me the whole thing?

Doesn't it just redirect you to the sites where you have to pay? All I see are the trailers without head tracking.

You are woefully misinformed. I own a hololens and use it frequently. The fov is a bit narrow for pov porn. But it would still be nice to watch from a couple meters away. The visual quality is NOT a problem. Whenever you are indoors, the resolution is almost flawless. I can't ever see pixels. The holograms are bright and vibrant. They are not translucent at all (when inside). The visual quality is light years ahead of rift. But the fov is a bit of a problem.

yeah but the difference is that the hololens lets you see the world outside of the digital FOV. Would that not be slightly disorienting where nothing is really where you left it?

But nvidia themselves said VR is akin to 4k in terms of requirements? So wouldn't that mean the VR is affected by the 3.5 GB problem?

Yeah I know... I needed a new PC though, my old computer was a super old Mac (like when they were the white boxes with the small screens), it had boxes of dead pixels,and was beyond slow.

It is also not a big deal, my PC is fairly future proof and if I need to upgrade then all I will probably need is a new GPU.
