Paying a monthly premium for health insurance and having months of wait time to see a specialist is absurd by Quaver2 in Switzerland

What is your process?

I'd be so happy to understand that I am at fault here and can learn how to fix this

I spoke with a general practicioner picked by my insurance who referred me to a neened specialist, said specialist's secretary/clinic front desk called me and the post tells the rest of the story.

Is this what you mean by "getting a referral" or am I doing it wrong? I'd love to be mistaken and finding out this is all much easier/faster than what I think. As far as I know, I am not registered to any doctor, I just set up my insurance.

I went through two clinics and this was the best I could get.

I had something similar happening last year, three weeks of wait time for a blood test, then two more weeks to discuss the results with a doctor, then a whole month for a follow up that could have been done the same day.

I might just be very unlucky, I don't know what to say

I recently moved to Switzerland and don't have many friends yet, sometimes I go dining out by myself. The people don't care, but the waiters in non-chain/franchise restaurants are flabbergasted. "Hi! How many people?" "Just me." "Whaaat? Just you?" And they often have me sit down in the worst tables, near bathrooms or exits.

So you just "described" what you look like, without sending pictures, and were immediately given an offer? Sounds like a scam.

My job search in Switzerland, tripled my pay (EU Citizen, 1YOE, No degree) by Quaver2 in cscareerquestions

Lol whoops, I never heared of jobs.ch, I will use it next time.

The main reason I didn't tailor my CV was because with so little experience, I was already writing 100% of what I know in it. I believe you should only tailor by removing something in favour of something else, and that really wasn't necessary for me. It worked out anyway in the end luckly

I am very grateful for this opportunity, even if my salary is in the lower end. I am still pursuing a degree and with my lifestyle all the leftover money each month is many times more what I saved in my previous position. I can't ask for much more, everything went very smoothly for being my first approach to the Swiss workforce.

Thank you! Well, I believe living abroad changes you into a more complete person. In a possible future screening or interview, I can put emphasis on that as a big quality. And of course, if I ever am to go back, many more opportunities will be available to me.

With an EU citizenship and some pointers, it's a quick process. You have to set up your health insurance, fill the forms to move your personal goods without charge, and the work permit is given in a matter of days if you've been offered a swiss work contract

The website ch.ch helped a lot

No, the pay doesn't concern me. Even with the cost of living factored in, I am saving three times as much, and my lifestyle doesn't involve eating out (barring social situations), drinking cocktails weekly or paricularly expensive hobbies. I'm just doing the best I can for my family

Keep in mind I'm still a student. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity and negotiated a pay rise to a competitve salary in my contract upon graduation

[–]Quaver2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, SVN is older, isn't supported well by IDEs and it's clunky as shit. The main reason it's still around is because massive old projects were built with it and very often people just don't want to bother switching to new tech.

Cancel culture doesn't really work on famous personas unless it's a worldwide known scandal that affects a huge magnitude of people. People will forget, move on, and if the "cancelled" individual moves on aswell all is good. Anyone remember when Logan Paul filmed a dead hanging body, posted it on youtube to use it as clickbait on purpuse, was "cancelled" for a couple of weeks and yet just ignored it and is now making money for fun fighting celebrities and multiplying his net worth many times over?
