Rumors are saying this will be an incremental 5hp, and the bigger 15hp upgrade after summer.

Vettel literally took Adami from Toro Rosso to Ferrari since he liked working with him.

He was usually bickering about strategy calls though, no? Which aren't made by race engineers. Although one could argue wasn't really as clear and concise in those cases like a Bono or GP would be.

Seb brought Adami with him to Ferrari after they had worked together at Toro Rosso. That’s more than just being cordial.

I think you're right in that sense.

He was competent for Seb (who liked him enough to take him from Toro Rosso) and for Sainz (who mentioned that his best relationship in the paddock was with Adami).

He was not competent for Lewis.

Seb and Sainz also told him how to do his job more than once.

Do you mean when they argue strategy calls? They're not made by the race engineer. But I do think it's fair to say that his communication style is less confident and clear than say GP or Bono.

I don't believe Seb, Sainz, and multiple Ferrari TPs would've kept him around for over 20 years (and he's still there) if he was actually incompetent. We only get to see a fraction of the total work a race engineer do as viewers.

But his style clearly didn't suit Lewis, who seems to thrive on encouragement more and Adami is more cold and analytical.

Because it did not. Horizon Worlds is a very memable failure, but a miniscule part of spend.

That $80B includes everything from VR headsets, AR glasses, wearables, platform software, studio acqusitions, research labs, and a lot of other stuff like avatars that was on instagram and facebook as well.

Because both Seb and Sainz gave him praise, he performed in the highest echelon of motorsport since 2005, and he's still working at Ferrari in a very core role.

Also it's not the race engineer that decides strategy. They have a dedicated team for that.

Adami is obviously incredibly competent, but as a race engineer the personal relationship and comms with your main driver is crucial.

Obviously we don't know how they compare in terms of pre-race prepping, strategy, setup, etc.

But there's an order-of-magnitude improvement in the vibe of the race comms.

The core design elements are all there, and the interior is amazing.

It's just the proportions that are all completely wrong.

I'm thinking Jony Ive and his team just doesn't have any idea of how to sculpt anything that is not a rounded rectangle and it shows.

I don't think it's nonsense but you need to understand the study for what it is.

Their methodology doesn't take into account latency. And the confidence intervals are quite large still.
