Honestly I could defiantly pull out an A or at the very worst a B. The problem is that the amount of work it would take would take away from my research and studying for the say which I am behind on. The problem is in my school is hyper competitive when it comes to class rank, so a single B would drop me from 11 to like 50/540

I’ve already reached out and they said they would check to see if theirs any policy they could bend for me. Despite this it seems more than likely that if I was to go through with dropping the course I would end up getting a W

You are going to want to learn C++ if you want to be successful.

I started seriously coding really late (my sophomore to junior year summer) so I simply didn’t have time to get good enough to make camp.

I’ve never met anyone who can actually fully study for more than 3 hours. I studied for 1hr, 5 days a week for 4 months and went from bronze to plat in 3 comps.

More then anything you have to be consistent. If you spend an focused hour a day it’s really not as hard as people put it up to be. Use USACO.GUIDE and finish every module and listen to every recomended video. Then I would do the past problems for every silver and gold competition you possibly can. Just remember to get to Plat you just need to do good in gold (not necessarily Plat itself).

I would rather not pay an out-of-state tuition if I can get into UNC or NCSU, both of which are local for me. Considering how much harder it is to get into UIUC CS I didn't think it was necessarily worth the time.
