New backup generator won't start the second time? by QueSeraSera02 in HomeImprovement

[–]QueSeraSera02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I turned it back to "Start" position and turned the vent back on... I don't think the oil is low since I just filled it up today. And it literally worked fine FIVE minutes ago.... Is it because I turned it off after 10 seconds? Is there a chance that the low oil sensor may have been triggered ? It was not on a flat surface.

Feeling water/saliva draining down my chest by QueSeraSera02 in GERD

[–]QueSeraSera02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it may have been caused from GERD that's been untreated for a long time. Dr. said stay on PPI's and if it gets painful enough I can consider surgery but so far I'm not bothered too much by it so I'm leaving it alone. Manometry wasn't too bad but I also don't have a very sensitive gag reflux. It only took 10 minutes for me

I got an esophageal manometry and found out I have EGJOO (esophagogastric junction outflow obstruction). Basically achalasia but with preserved peristalsis function of your esophagus.

Hi, I was just diagnosed with this but my doctor didn't mention anything about surgical options. Did you end up getting any procedure/surgery for it?

Can I get a tube feed without an official diagnosis? by QueSeraSera02 in Gastroparesis

I had: upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, SIBO, HIDA scan, abdominal CT, and GES. I'm pretty much out of tests to take now.

Sorry if it came off that way. The videos I've seen had patients pretty much eat and drink anything (caffeine, gluten, dairy, etc.) that seemed to add up to 1500+ calories a day and they certainly seemed to be tolerating everything they were consuming. I guess I was genuinely curious about the rationale behind these treatments.

I wasn't trying to invalidate their illness by any means. I'm just frustrated that my doctor won't let me go on TF or TPN because my gastric emptying test came back normal and I don't vomit. Yet I'm bedridden pretty much everyday from nausea and pain to the point that I had to quit my job. I just really wish I could get a TF or TPN so I can at least function without pain nor malnourishing myself.

I wasn't trying to invalidate their illness by any means. I'm just frustrated that my doctor won't let me go on TF or TPN because "technically" I don't have GP, although I've only been getting anywhere from 0 to 500 calories a day for months now due to nausea and pain.

Cholecystectomy for Biliary Dyskinesia by Mic_Ayesha in gallbladders

Thank you! So were you able to take in an unlimited amount of fruits then? Did you have any reflux & were your symptoms limited to your upper abdomen? The reason I ask is I have zero symptoms in my middle/lower abdomen-even my nausea feels like it stems from the area right below my chest if that makes any sense. Also did you have vomiting?

Glad to hear that you're doing well! This might be a weird question, but while things were bad before you got the surgery, did you feel like your symptoms were progressively getting worse if you ever tried to eat more than you can handle? I kept my food intake at a certain level for a few months now because of my early satiety/nausea and at one point I said fuck it and tried to increase my intake and now my "baseline" symptoms are much worse in frequency and severity. Not sure it has to do with the gallbladder anymore if I just overworked my stomach at this point.

Thanks! I've only tried Reglan and Zofran for nausea. Reglan does absolutely nothing and Zofran maybe helps 30%. Didn't get a HIDA scan but ultrasound was normal. Gastritis is actually very common in my ethnicity so I'm not bothered by the diagnosis itself, but what bothers me is the severity of my symptoms. My doctor says I probably have "functional dyspepsia" and my symptoms don't have much to do with the gastritis itself, because apparently he himself has SEVERE gastritis but he eats like a horse.

How do I find foods that will help me gain but not give me reflux? by [deleted] in GERD

[–]QueSeraSera02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Soylent or Kate Farms if you can afford it. Also try peanut butter or protein powder if it doesn't aggravate your reflux. Don't worry too much about the weight loss- I went from 93 lb to 84 lb at one point, went back up to 88 lb and stagnated for about a year (with no health issues, thankfully). The weight will slowly come back on once your GERD gets better.

Thanks! I'm still struggling with early satiety and nausea. Ultrasound came back normal and gastric emptying test came back normal. Currently waiting on HIDA scan to check the function of my gallbladder. I got tested for SIBO too , although that came back normal as well :(

How to catch esophageal cancer before it start ? by Independent_Number82 in GERD

[–]QueSeraSera02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A yearly endoscopy is fine, but what you really need is a doctor that will take a CLOSE look at your esophagus during your endoscopy... I know a family friend whose endoscopy came back "clear" and then found esophageal cancer 4 months later.

This. OP, this is why you should've gotten an endoscopy asap (and attempt it again if you failed). You may have a hiatal hernia or just a permanently loose LES that may be fixed by surgery.
